Purchasing American Cars Will Improve The Economy

images4.jpgAmericans need to take action immediately to help the nation’s economy improve and bring back American jobs.  Americans have purchased 11 million foreign vehicles over the last 10 years.  That is equal to about $25.5 billion exported out of the U.S. economy.  Buying American cars with an auto warranty would improve the economy greatly.

It seems that Americans have become numb to the on-going announcements that the “Big Three Auto Makers” are cutting jobs and closing plants.  This year alone, Ford Motor Co. announced that they were closing three plants and cutting more jobs.  Chrysler Motors had to close three plants and cut approximately 12,000-15,000 jobs.  GM announced a loss of $11.8 billion in the first quarter of 2008, which is its second largest loss ever, and also had to close plants.

Over the last 10 years American cars have improved greatly in quality.  In fact, J.D. Powers has recognized that American cars have had substantially higher improvement in comparison to their foreign competition.  It’s time for Americans to change their way of thinking and buy American cars.  And consumers can always rest assured that they won’t be paying unnecessary costs if they have new car warranties.

The Chevrolet Silverado Is A Best Seller For August

images-1.jpgIt appears that giving a $10,000 discount on a pickup truck, along with fuel prices under $4, is a winning combination.  At least that’s the case for the Chevrolet Silverado in August.  GM offered its employee-pricing discount, which kicked sales into overdrive and made the Silverado one of the best-selling vehicles in the nation.

In July, the Silverado only sold 32,989 units, but by offering the employee discounts, the number was bumped up to 55,765 in August, which is still under the number sold in August of 2007, which were 67,486.

Other trucks were offered with a hefty discount and therefore experienced a sales increase.  However, practical cars are still among the majority of the top 10 list for August.  After all, consumers are still trying to protect their wallets by buying small, fuel-efficient vehicles with hefty new car warranties.

BMW Is Offering 0.9% Financing

images-3.jpgIt’s time for BMW to clear out their 2008 models to make room for the new 2009s.  Believe it or not, BMW even has model-year-end sales, but they disguise it by using fancy expressions, such as 0.9% financing, in order to promote them.  Until September 2nd, most BMW models, except the M3, X6 and M5, will qualify for 0.9% financing.  So, what does this mean?

The average loan rate currently is 6.78%.  So if you wanted to finance a 328i sedan base model, which costs $32,700 over four years, you would pay $779.70 per month with nothing down.  In the end you would end up paying $37,426 including interest.

However, by lowering the rate to 0.9% your monthly payment will drop to $693.84, with the total term cost being $33,304.  So, do the math and you’ll find that BMW is offering a savings of $4,000 in this case.

Now is the time to take advantage of the price savings that BMW is offering.  With all of the car expenses consumers have to pay, such as new car warranties, gas costs, and car maintenance, every little bit of savings helps.

The 2008 Cadillac Escalade Is Big And Bright

images.jpgWatch out for some bright lights as the 2008 Cadillac Escalade Platinum edition arrives in town. The newest version of this SUV is well equipped and quite lavish. This will be the first vehicle with LED headlights that is mainstream. Light emitting diode technology (LED) has many advantages to conventional car lights. First and foremost, LED bulbs end up lasting much longer. In fact, they will likely survive throughout the life of the car. This cuts down on the hassle of motorists having to replace light bulbs. Another advantage is that LED lights are much brighter and have a clean look. The lighting can be intense, but it features a daylight color that looks natural.

LED lights are being used more commonly, but were only used in brake lamps, tail lamps, and the interior of cars until now.

Several high-end European carmakers have used LED lights in headlamps. However, they were only used in models with low volume. However, with the Platinum series, Cadillac has hopes of selling around 10,000 Escalades that will have the new LED headlights.

Motorists have made the Escalade a popular choice in the past, and are looking forward to this new version. And with new car warranties, consumers can rest assured that they are making a wise purchase.

Chrysler Attempts To Sell Its Dodge Viper

images8.jpgIt’s no secret that Chrysler has been experiencing some recent struggles. The car company is seeking ways to turn things around and move forward in a very difficult time for automakers. According to the Detroit News, their latest move is to try to sell its Dodge Viper brand.

The Dodge Viper has always been a stylish luxury sports car, however it hasn’t ever provided big business for Chrysler. This is especially true now, when consumers are mostly interested in protecting their wallets with small fuel-efficient vehicles and new car warranties. The Detroit News says that the automaker is making an attempt to “refocus” on its “core business.”

It’s speculated that the Dodge Viper could get around $50 million for a foreign automaker as a hobby brand. Overall, this won’t affect the car-buying population, but dedicated enthusiasts of the Viper will find this to be a grim picture of the future.

New Fuel-Efficient Turbo In The Mazda Kazamai

images-25.jpgThe new Mazda Kazamai debuted in the 2008 Moscow auto show today and was highly impressive with its wildly futuristic style.  A turbocharged four-cylinder engine that Mazda will also use in production models as soon as 2011 powers the car.

The engine is based on the one in the CX-7 crossover; however, Mazda claims this one will improve mileage up to 30%.  A four-wheel drive CX-7 currently gets 17/23 mpg, which means a 30% increase would bring those figures to 22/30 mpg.  This is better, in terms of highway mileage, than any other SUV that is a non-hybrid on the market.  Also, the CX-7’s current engine is a ton of fun to drive.  It is expected that this new turbo engine, and a next generation six-speed transmission will make it to other models, such as the new Mazda 6 and maybe a future edition of the Mazdaspeed3 performance hatchback.

This move is following a trend that has been seen before, where it is possible to add existing technology, such as turbocharging, to gas engines in order to greatly increase mileage.  Increasing mileage by 30% in three years is very impressive.  Mazda is listening to consumer demands for more fuel-efficient vehicles with new car warranties.  Their turbocharged four-cylinder engine will be utilized in many vehicles.

Ford Will Convert A Michigan Truck Plant

images7.jpgFord Motor Company is making a move to wean itself away from light trucks. In fact, it will use $75 million in order to convert an SUV factory in Michigan to manufacture cars.

The truck plant is located in Wayne, Michigan, which is a Detroit suburb. Ford will begin working on the conversion in early November, and will begin production of a small car that is unspecified in 2010, according to a Ford statement.

The equipment that has been used at the plant in Wayne to manufacture Navigator and Expedition SUVs will be transported to another factory located in Louisville. This plant currently builds F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks, but will also manufacture the SUV models, starting in the second quarter of 2009.

The factory in Michigan is one of three plants in North America that will be retooled to make fuel-efficient cars. This is under the plan by Chief Executive Alan Mulally to put an end to approximately $23.9 billion in losses since the year 2005. Due to high gas prices, light trucks have been down 19%, and they account for 63% of the 2008 deliveries for Ford. Consumers now want to protect their wallets by purchasing small, fuel-efficient cars with new car warranties.

Honda Is Ready For The Changing Car Market

images-82.jpgOther carmakers are scrambling to downsize their car lineups, yet Honda Motor continues to restock its current lineup of small vehicles that are fuel-efficient.

Honda is the most popular car company in the U.S., and its success will continue to grow with the introduction of a new updated version of the Honda Fit subcompact today.

The current version of the Fit has experienced a sales increase of a staggering 79% this year due to the trend for consumers to steer clear of large vehicles that guzzle gas.

And with the new Fit, which gets 34mpg/highway and comes with an auto warranty, Honda continues to polish its sparkling reputation as the carmaker that is best able to capitalize on an auto market that is changing rapidly.

Sales in the U.S. car market have dropped 11% this year, and yet Honda’s sales have gone up 3%. To compare, GM has had sales decline 11%, Ford Motor has declined 14%, and Toyota has dropped 7%.

Honda’s success can be explained in simple terms. When all other automakers, including Toyota, shifted to trucks, Honda resisted and stuck with their formula. Consumers are looking for small, fuel-efficient cars that are dependable and come with new car warranties, and Honda delivers. With the current economy people aren’t taking risks on gas-guzzlers.

The Green Car Of The Year Is The Toyota Yaris

images-55.jpgRecently, The Environmental Transport Association named the Toyota Yaris to be the “Green Car Of The Year. The ETA looked at 1300 vehicles in order to put together a green vehicle guide for car shoppers. In order to determine the green guide they researched the power, fuel-efficiency, noise levels, and emissions of the cars.

There were other models by Toyota that also made the top ten list by the ETA. Among these cars were, coming in third, the Prius, in sixth place came the Avgo, and coming in ninth was the Auris. These were considered some of the best green vehicles.

In the segment of the off road vehicle that was the greenest, the Toyota RAV4 came in first. In the category of the greenest city vehicle was the Toyota Avgo.

Motorists are becoming more and more concerned with buying cars that are environmentally friendly. Luckily, there are currently many vehicles in this category that provide style, reliability, and fuel-efficiency, and even come with new car warranties that allow drivers to have peace of mind.

Car Affordability Is At A 28-Year High

images-24.jpgLuckily, at the moment, not all of the economic news is tragic.

According to economists from Comerica Bank, vehicles have currently become more affordable than has been seen in 28 years.  So, the last time vehicle shoppers’ purchases made up this small of a piece of his or her income, fuel prices were higher than ever and comedians were telling jokes about how old presidential candidates were.

Comerica claims that the average cost of a light vehicle currently is $27,704, including new car warranties, and the average amount of money that people spent on a vehicle fell $700 this quarter, to approximately $23,900.  Motorists have been keeping their payments down by stretching out how much time they will take to pay it off, which is currently more than 62 months.

Incentives have spurred the trend, which continue to get better as dealers try to get rid of inventory (they especially look appealing if you want to purchase an SUV or truck), but for the most part, motorists have just begun to want less-expensive models.
