4 Different Types Of Coverage That Can Be Provided By New Car Warranties

2013 Nissan SentraAn auto warranty is a good investment to make if you just purchased a new car. New car warranties can provide four different types of coverage:

1. One kind of coverage that can be provided is basic coverage, which is also known as a bumper-to-bumper warranty. This provides coverage for all of the parts of the car from bumper to bumper.

2. Another kind of coverage is a drivetrain, or powertrain warranty, which will cover all of the parts of your car that make it run. The parts that are generally included in this coverage are the driveshaft, drive axels, engine, and transmission.

3. Corrosion and rust coverage is also an option. This covers rust-through problems.

4. Lastly, you can be provided with roadside assistance. This service can be provided to you while you are under an active basic warranty. This service provides you with professional help when you are stranded on the side of the road. It provides services such as lockout assistance, towing, assistance for when you run out of gas, and flat tire assistance.

In order to become familiar with all of the details of the coverage that is provided to you by your auto warranty, check your owner’s manual or your warranty booklet. If you still think that you do not have enough coverage and that you need more, look into buying an extended warranty.
