New Car Warranties: Chrysler Recall and Other Recall News
If you are a Dodge Durango or Jeep Liberty owner, be aware that your vehicle could possibly be rounded up in a recall issued by Chrysler for almost a half million automobiles.
“Chrysler “Group said on Friday it would recall almost half a million vehicles, including recent models of the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Durango after reported fires and its new Dodge Avenger sedan because of faulty door latches.
Chrysler said it took the action after receiving reports of dozens of cases in which the Durango or the Liberty caught fire.
The sweeping recall of over 489,000 vehicles was the second such action by Chrysler in two weeks. In late February, the U.S. automaker recalled almost 51,000 vehicles to reprogram software for anti-lock brakes.”

In other recall news, police officers will find that their Crown Victoria might be part of a recall involving over 100,000 vehicles. The problem seems to stem from faulty wheels that tend too fall apart during a high speed chase.

Well I am currently a T-Mobile customer and am planning on buying an Iphone 3gs. Problem is, I hate AT&T. So I’ve heard of this thing called “unlocking” and what I assumed unlocking was is that you switch from AT&T’s sucky, expensive service to T-Mobile. I have both Windows XP and Vista computers and I have some copies of Windows 7 Upgrade. I’ve never liked upgrading operating systems and much rather prefer the tidiness of a clean install. I hear the Win7 Upgrade from Vista isn’t bad, but I still don’t want to do it. When doing the upgrade, I understand that I boot up with the Win7 Upgrade disk and do a “Custom” install. Will that let me completely wipe/format my hard drive before installing Win7?

I created symbol and then later edited the size and shape. When I moved its position I noticed that the pivot stayed in the same place. How do I reset the pivot and get it to shift to the center of the symbol (and its new location)? Is there a way to do this? I’m on Flash CS3. Thanks.

This may sound weird, but I’m doing a study on the “limits” of laptop safety for school children. Something I have been searching on is, can school students get to unsafe and illegal pornography and then somehow hide it from those who check it? Afterall, it seems school board members and faculty members have been caught for this, but not as many children. Maybe they know something that the faculty doesn’t. I have a digital piano and I want to get that music into my PC (audigy application). It has left/right outputs (big white or red connectors like a DVD player) and headphones out (1/8″ jack). It also has MIDI outputs. My PC has a standard mic input and line input and USB inputs. What is the cleanest and best way (easiest) to get the played sound into my PC. I also have a mic I could use. Also, since I will want to bring this audio into Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 eventually to sync up with video- is Audigy good for this or do you recommend any other audio capture software. It’s a new higher end PC - onboard HD audio. Thanks!

an autoplay keeps popping up on my computer, it won’t go away even if I do a control alt delete. Hi. I really like the effect of a floating box like in the friendster’s login page and also in facebook’s when sending requests and etc. Some also use this “floating box” when previewing a picture, i.e, you click a thumbnail of an image and then a floating box will appear with the full image view. I also like the transition and the buttons inside the box.. And the great thing is, it doesnt exit the main page.. Well, I like them so much that I want to make one.. How do u make it?? I have tried downloads, on a variety of computers, which run everything from Windows 95, right up through XP. On every computer that I have ever tried, I have tried to stay on “safe” sites, such as Download.com, to download operations programs, screensavers, and so on (Download.com is just an example, of dozens of so-called web-sites I have tried). Wouldn’t you know it, though. At evewry single site, that I can mention, I have brought back viruses, worms, and “tons” of spy-ware. And this is from the “clean”, “safe”, web-sites. I know that the best hackers can penetrate any connection, including D.S.L., dial-up, and any other connection, to inject bad codes into home computers. How can internet users “safely” use the internet, without having to worry about hackers, and corporations, “injecting” garbage into our computers? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don’t think I’m losing the monitor, it’s a fairly new laptop designed for Windows XP by Dell. I’m renting to own it and before I’m done paying it off I want to make sure nothing is wrong with it. I don’t use up a lot of space more 2/3rds of the hard drive memory is still available. No viruses ect. The laptop tends to get hot, so I have an icepack wrapped in plastic to keep it cool and protect against moisture. It’s doing a great job at keeping cool. i have a problem with my internal HDD. When this all happened, i was playing a game online. I got a Virus Worm and i shut down my computer and reformatted my HDD and put windows back on. I had a secondary HDD in for back-up purposes. so got windows in and put everything back, but i then noticed that my computers performance went down drastically with my main HDD, I could not copy anything i had onto the back-up drive and once i did it was so slow to copy the file. Once i had all the files on the back-up drive, i decided to start from the back-up drive with windows. Same applied. It was really slow with the reading-and-writing. i decided to take the secondary back-up drive out and boot from the main HDD. Everything seemed to be running smoothly i checked the main HDD Temperature with HD tune. The drives temp was 37 degrees Celsius, and the drive went to normal temperature of 43-44 degrees Celsius. I then decided to plug in the secondary HDD and leave it on for a day. the temperature went from 43-44 degrees to 47-48 degrees Celsius. So my guess is that the HDD drives are getting way to hot, and i am getting what seems like bad sectors in the drive, but it has never done this before. I have always had my back-up drive in ever since i got my main HDD. I can’t place my finger on what is wrong with my drives. Once the main HDD is lower temperatures the drive seems to be performing better. but its normal temperature is 43-44 degrees Celsius and i still have some problems with reading and writing then. Can someone tell me what has happened please. I dont know if it was from the worm virus or if the temperatures are getting too hot (but has never done this before) can someone tell me what to do. I have changed the line leading into the motherboard as well, and that seems to have no effect. i even swapped the board lines between the CD drives and the HDD drives, no effect on that either. can someone tell me what is going on, i have ran out of options. My virus protection was malfunctioning for a short time yesterday, and during that time I got a virus. I believe I’ve gotten rid of it, but I’m now experiencing another problem, which I suspect is some sort of malware that got onto my computer at the same time as the other virus. Whenever I try to do a search (mainly just searches pertaining to the problem at hand, although some normal searches as well), any link that comes up redirects me to a site to buy things or page of fake search engine results. I’m not sure what’s going on and I can’t find out because whatever has installed itself on my computer or in my browser is hijacking my search results. I’m sure there’s an answer out there, but I can’t find it because I can’t do a proper search. Any tips you can give me for how to eliminate this problem would be greatly appreciated. I use Firefox and XP Professional. Also, I have been receiving a lot of notifications from Nortons that an IP address in Luxembourg (212.117.174.176) is trying to attack my computer. Laptop: Lenovo Y410 OS: win XP sp3 AntiVirus: Norton Internet Security 2009 Back in the Philippines, I was using my laptop normally. No problems. I could connect to the internet, download stuff with p2p, etc. About a week ago, we arrived in Las Vegas and have been living with my uncle’s. I was enjoyed his really really fast internet (well, compared to my connection back in the Philippines, It was incredibly fast). I was able to download stuff of interest and also surf normally. The problem occurred after I visited a pornsite (and I’ve been visiting this pornsite back then so, I had confidence that It didn’t pose a threat to my system) (and please, I don’t give a **** about what you think about me If I visit porn sites) My laptop started hanging. I have to hold the power button just to turn it off. Usually, windows would show an error that “the laptop didn’t turn off properly” blah blah… It didn’t. After my next attempts of rebooting the laptop, about 5 minutes into operation, it would slow down, and after a few seconds, it would freeze and after trying to run task manager, it would sound off a loud beep that wouldn’t end unless I turn off the laptop by holding the power button. This happens when I’m connected to the net. This also happens when I’m not connected but gives my laptop more normal run time, and eventually hangs. I tried running system restore, It said that “it couldn’t help solve the problem”. I tried running system restore while in safe mode and it was successful. I rebooted back into normal and the same problem occurred (hang, loud beep). I tried doing a system scan in safemode (since in normal mode, it would hang right away), and it found 1 threat (mebroot) and said (Norton) to have resolved it. Fortunately, I had a back up OS (win XPsp3 again installed on a separate partition). I ran it, and connected to the internet. I surfed to google, fry’s, target, (since I was shopping for stuff). After about 20 minutes into browsing, the same thing happened to my laptop (without browsing porn). It hanged, and sounded a loud beep again. My laptop is a year old, and warranty doesn’t cover it any more. I want to know if I’m having hardware problems or software problems. Thanks! Happy New Year! today a friend downloaded a .txt file on my computer and i later looked at it and it said it was about 8.4mb… which is incredibly large for a text file. i did put it into microsoft word and it said there was about 30,000 pages and roughly 1million words if that helps… but i just don’t know if there could somehow be a keylogger or virus hidden in that .txt file seeing it was so large.. i use firefox, and when to the downloads window and right clicked the original download, but it did not allow me to open the file or open the containing folder… i deleted it off of the downloads window i did a full virus scan on my computer and nothing came up- i also tried to do a system restore but it told me my anti virus program was preventing it from working. i disabled my anti-virus program and tried it again but system restore still didn’t work. i use norton anti-virus. long story short, from the information provided, i would like to know if i could possibly have a keylogger on my computer, how to detect it and how to remove it. thank you very much. Ive broke my laptop not very long ago, and the laptop was really good thought, it was very fast, no delays, and great. But ive Bought a new laptop, and its no where near as good. I have no idea wt make it is, but its kinda new. Its a windows vista, Toshiba, and thts all i know. But when i go on random websites it takes quit awhile to load up the page, and when im playing games, its very laggy, like when i click something it takes awhile to react. And the worst part, is my old laptop when i loaded the laptop, it would take about 30 secs to get to home page, now this laptop takes around 5 minuets?? Why?? Ive tried deleting some stuff, weve got virus protection, no viruses, Its got a big RAM, and over 200GB harddrive, but its 2 100GB harddrives. Please can somebody help me? o.k. this thing called security tool kept popping up and telling me all these viruses I had on the computer. Well now it completely blanked out my screen making it the only thing visible and everytime I try presing Ctrl + Alt + Delete to go to my task manager it blocks it off with a virus pop up!!! I tried to download ad-aware after I got infected, but it will not let me open or download ANY antivirus software to quarantine or remove this spyware virus. Recently, my clipta.com toolbar seems to be malfunctioning. Whenever I want to download a video, it only allows me to download a small portion of a video - say, I wanted to download a 99MB video, I was only able to download about an eighth of it. I do not know what is happening, but I have also been experiencing from strange redirections - when I click on a link from a Google Search, I get redirected all the time to another page completely, and I have to go back and do it a few times before it works, sometimes. Could it be a trojan or a virus or something? - because all my troubles started, I think (but I’m not that sure) when I downloaded a .exe file. When I opened it, it didn’t work. My security software detected a threat, and labelled it as “High” in risk level. Changes, according to my Internet Seurity Software, have also been made to my system files. It also seems that it may be a trojan horse. Could this be linked to my inability to download FULL versions of videos using my clipta.com toolbar? I use Mozilla Firefox (v. 3.5.5). Recently my computer has been popping up blue stop screens, it has something to do with thekernell memory dump or something, so I copied all my files onto my flash drive and now the flash drives has a file on it that is saved as “BOOTEX”. When I open the file it says “Checking file system on E: The type of the file system is FAT. The volume is dirty.” What does this mean? I don’t know what it is but after i uninstalled a virus it deleted a lot of the scripting for programs to work and now it keeps de-selecting things as i’m doing them. Like i’m trying to play a game and it keeps de-selecting the whole game so it minimizes the entire game and i have to re-click it again, same with firefox, it even tries to close it. I use Itunes for all of my music….but it costs a lot of money. I probably go through $50 of Itunes money a month and it’s getting ridiculous. A couple of my friends have told me about limewire….but if I get it I’m not sure if I’ll get a virus on my computer. My sister recently reformatted her Dell Dimension 3100. She recently reformatted her computer. She has lost her driver disk. I went to the Dell web site and looked up her drivers. I downloaded them onto a disk and installed them on her computer. But its still lacking the ethernet driver (says so in Device Manager). I’m having trouble figuring out which one is the ethernet driver. Can anyone push me in the right direction? Thanks!

I have a bad virus on my computer. Not to long ago I had the fake security system known as, “Security tool” I got rid of most of it. When I say ‘Most’ I mean it’s not popping up every five seconds and screwing up my desktop. Once it was off, I’d using something everyone told me to use, and that was malwarebytes. I tried to install it using different names and such so the virus won’t recognize it, but it still would not install. And now, I believe the virus updated itself. Now, when I go on the internet and search on google, yahoo, etc. it redirects me. Also I can not open my task bar yet again, and I believe another fake security virus was placed onto my computer. I have tried everything and really don’t won’t to call geek squad, because we all know their expensive as hell. CAN SOMEONE HELP?!!!

I would like to run my computer computer as a media center pc but would still like to have a dual monitor desktop. I am looking for suggestions for a video card that can support 3 different screens, 2 are basic monitors and the 3rd is a 1080p lcd. I would like full resolution support for the tv. When i finished setting up my xbox to connect to my laptop for a screen, there is a small delay when pressing the controller buttons. Is there anyway i could prevent this lag from happening? I am using a Dazzle dvd recorder that is supposed to convert vhs movies to dvds but it works better for my xbox than the other product i bought which was more expensive and had more lag. The dazzle has those red white and yellow plugs which i plug the xbox cords into and it appears on the program screen. The only problem is the small lag that happens when i use the controller. Any way to fix this?

Hey there, I need to find a way to update a certain file when a user enters my webpage. It uses a javascript that I constantly change, so If I made a change and the user doesn’t clean its cookies the user will be using the old code… So this is the big question… how do I do to update that specific file on the user’s pc without having to tell him to clear its cookies and reload the page?

I recently purchased Microsft Flight Simulator X and installed it onto my pc. However on trying to install it on my laptop I was met with the message saying that I could only use it once and that I would have to contact Microsoft. I find this a bit much when I have bought the programme. If I need to replace my computer for any reason it means that I would have to purchase further copies of any Microsoft games I may have. Is there any way around this?

I just bought an older Compaq 5330US it runs window Xp. I plugged the adapter in and installed the software. The adapter is a 2wire brand. Everything is connected says it’s connected except the local area connection it tells me a network cable is unplugged. This is suppose to be a “wireless” adapters I don’t have a dial up connection. I think i have a virus or hijacker or something in my computer as for the past few weeks every website i go on has the same advertisment whereever the advertisments are its for pills. Also when i search for something on like gooogle ect or anything and i click on something like a link it dosent bring up the right link half of the time. I have been trying to do a sytem restore to a point a few months ago when it was fine but when i first click on it nothing happens and so i go back in and click it again and then the window pops up but its comnpletely blank with the wee not reponding icon in the top left hand corner. Hi Ok my grandma got a new desktop a few weeks ago, it came with a free trial of McAfee which I installed for her no probs (have it myself at home) She already bought a different antivirus package (Bulldog?) which I was going to install when the McAfee trial was up. Anyway my little brother has been up for xmas and since there’s only a few days of the McAfee trial left thought he would install it now for her. Since then the pc goes on to the desktop and thats about it, it wont let me open anything in the controll panel and cant get on the internet. It wont even turn off so have to do it by the button! Its as if its loading up constantly but doesnt do anything at all. I’m pretty sure it’s cos of the 2 antivirus software together am I right? How do I sortr it? It was my sisters old computer, which always worked fine for her but when put it in my room it no longer works properly. The keyboard and mouse are still on, the number lock light is illuminated, but when i hit Cap lock the light doesn’t come on. The computer isn’t frozen, the clock works and the little hour glass appears by the mouse. Because the buttons don’t work Ctrl Alt Del doesn’t work, or Alt F4. I can’t open a virus scan either. today a friend downloaded a .txt file on my computer and i later looked at it and it said it was about 8.4mb… which is incredibly large for a text file. i did put it into microsoft word and it said there was about 30,000 pages and roughly 1million words if that helps… but i just don’t know if there could somehow be a keylogger or virus hidden in that .txt file seeing it was so large.. i use firefox, and when to the downloads window and right clicked the original download, but it did not allow me to open the file or open the containing folder… i deleted it off of the downloads window i did a full virus scan on my computer and nothing came up- i also tried to do a system restore but it told me my anti virus program was preventing it from working. i disabled my anti-virus program and tried it again but system restore still didn’t work. i use norton anti-virus. long story short, from the information provided, i would like to know if i could possibly have a keylogger on my computer, how to detect it and how to remove it. thank you very much. Why do I always have to wait for the download bar on videos to load before i watch a movie? I have done several anti-virus scans and my anti-virus is up to date. I put music from itunes on the really slow home computer onto CDs and want to put those CDs on my laptop.My laptop also has itunes. But the home computer is almost 7 years old. We think it runs so slowly b/c it has so much junk clogging up the hard drive. But it is possible it could have a virus that my parents don’t know about. Personally I never have 2 Anti-Virus programs installed at the same time. They seem to have a knack for totally screwing each other up. I have a piece of adware on my computer that I obviously wish to get rid of (it slows down my computer… -.-). Avira Free Version is a perfectly fine antivirus program, but apparently it does not have this (insert obscene adjective here) adware on its detection list. I looked into this adware a bit more and found that AVG should have it on its detection list, which would mean a
for me and a 
for the adware… elimation of the adware in other words. There are several problems with this idea, though. 1. I am not sure about this, but I believe I read somewhere that having multiple AVs (AntiVirus) may cause confliction between programs… is this true? (read titular question for the specifics) 2. Supposing that the above question were answered with a “Yes”, I would have to remove Avira. I have also read that this action is difficult to fully complete… is this true and if so, how would I go about screwing the adware (FYI it is called WhenU SaveNow, and it is despicable in my personal opinion)? 3. Should someone else incidentally have this (virus? adware? program?)… thing… and have successfully removed it, could you answer back with your solution? Notes about the *censor*ing software… I am aware that you (ahem) should (ahem) be able to remove the “thing” (I refuse to name it except in an above example) in Windows’ Add/Remove Programs panel. It is not a part of the list of removable items, so I assume it must have latched onto a download (silly brother >:O). Because my computer is second-hand, it has a variety of rather shifty programs (in my paranoid opinion). Flock I think is decent, Limewire… not so decent, my idiot brother’s downloads off Limewire… VERY untrustworthy. However, the adware might have been present before that bozo downloaded Limewire, so I can’t fix the blame on Limewire. Also, this adware updates itself and seems to “read” the content on the web pages I browse and display related content… fortunately, it does not understand Mandarin. The adware PHAILS (phails, fails, same thing) in that it displays its unconvincingly poor “Click me” (the “click me” idea is displayed in many ways…) ideas in Internet Explorer while I browse in Mozilla Firefox -.- Any solution would be welcome. I have a virus that is not allowing me to view hidden files or folders. It won’t either allow me to run regedit or any programs to fix that. But I can access most of my files for backup. I just want to somehow select my hidden files, and copy them to a hard drive for backup, but it won’t let me unless I am able to view them. I suddenly noticed that most files names turned blue in font color in every directory i enter. i can not seem to change it back to black and i do not understand what have caused it. i thought maybe it is a virus or spyware since it happened suddenly, i checked for viruses and spywares/malwares and i could not find anything. I deleted norton virus since my account already expired. So I borrowed my brother’s Mcafee and installed it to my computer. I tried getting on the Internet but when I do the page connection says cannot be connected. So I checked the signal strength and it says ” very good” but it’s still not connected? I share a router that is located in my sister’s room which is like 10 ft away, and her computer is working just fine with the Internet. I use Itunes for all of my music….but it costs a lot of money. I probably go through $50 of Itunes money a month and it’s getting ridiculous. A couple of my friends have told me about limewire….but if I get it I’m not sure if I’ll get a virus on my computer. It said something was infected but it disappeared before i could read it. OMFG it JUST took me 25 minutes just to load up yahoo answers. My computer is REALLT slow now [laptop] Here are the things i used. Regardless its still slow. 1. Malwarebytes - Used that and no malicious items were found 2. AVG Free 9.0 - Scanned today [also updated] and no infections found 3. Disk Defragement - I did that today but still slow 4. CCleaner - Cleaned registry, yet it is still slow 5. Cookies and Squlite files - delete those everyday, yet my computer is still slow 6. Avast - Scanned for viruses and non were found, yet my computer STILL goes slow. its not my specs or anything. Even when i play games [there are no games on here] it laggs and my specs are above recommendation. When i exit game, computer goes ******* slow as hell so i know its not my specs. Any idea whats making my computer slow as hell. There are no viruses, Files, Programs on my computer that would cause this. My anti virus for comodo internet security won’t update. A reminder popped up saying it was out of date. So i tried to manually update it. it stops at 51% and says “failed to update the virus signature database. Let me start off by saying what actually happens with videos. Whenever a page comes up that has a potential video on it, ones in which you can click a play button, my computer freezes up immediately. I ran a virus scan and there are no viruses. Literally, a second after the page comes up it freezes and the “program is not responding”. It was working fine early today. Now that I think back though, a message came up that was asking for me to grant permission or something and I may have clicked never but I can’t remember what is was asking for etc. Are there any common downloads I could do or any security options that I can get around? Stupid facebook gave me some nasty viruses. When I logged on, it started popping up very inappropriate sites that I didn’t want to see. It won’t let me open ANYTHING without giving me an error message. I tried to open an anti-virus program but it won’t let me do that either. It keeps popping up a phony virus system that it says I need to buy, but it’s a scam. I’ve already purchased AVG and it’s up to date. I tried logging into a different account on my computer and doing a scan, but the scan is coming back with nothing. I’ve had my laptop a little over 3 years and it’s been slowing down over the years. For example, it takes a couple minutes to open Mozilla Firefox. I know it has to do with all of the junk on my hard drive, but I don’t know how to go about cleaning it out. Should I completely wipe out my computer and start anew? Recently my computer has been popping up blue stop screens, it has something to do with thekernell memory dump or something, so I copied all my files onto my flash drive and now the flash drives has a file on it that is saved as “BOOTEX”. When I open the file it says “Checking file system on E: The type of the file system is FAT. The volume is dirty.” What does this mean? o.k. this thing called security tool kept popping up and telling me all these viruses I had on the computer. Well now it completely blanked out my screen making it the only thing visible and everytime I try presing Ctrl + Alt + Delete to go to my task manager it blocks it off with a virus pop up!!! i have an Dell Inspiron desktop with a wireless adapter already inside it. it was working fine until i wipe my hard drive (system recovery) because it had a virus and now i cant get it to work.i do not have the in stall disc either but i tried downloading the driver, and i went into the device manager and it had a yellow exclamation point uninstalled it but now when i restart my pc it will not pop up to install new hardware and when i go to manuelly install it it there’s like five other wireless adapters so i installed them all and it still doesn’t work. Out of no where. I keep getting messages that pop up stating that my computer is infected, danger, attention, etc… then it tells you to download or continue unprotected. Uniblue does make a AntiSpyware for computers called Spy Eraser. However as this one appears to be legite, its comprimising my computer. After searching for the file I found it not as a program on the computer, but as a file in System32. Every two minutes those messages come up. I can not exit the program or disable it. It appears as if its a legitimate program, an icon on the bar next to the clock and one implanted on the desk top. However I ran all my spyware programs, anti-virus’ programs and id failed to detect it. So I instaled MalwareBytes and it found it, and removed it. I ran it twice and everything else twice. Three hours later while the computer was siting, the message popped up. The icon reappeared on the desktop. The message continues every two minutes. Each message is similar but a little different from the rest. However it never changes its motive. I ran MalwareBytes again, it detected the infected files. So I did some research and found that I should use a program called RegCure to eliminate the rest of the files that were not being removed under the registry. It found 1242 infected files, and fixed them. However, I still find myself in the same boat. However I was told that I may not need to re-install the Windows, XP. My home is only 1400 feet away from a 733 foot, 50,000 watt radio tower and another smaller radio tower next to it. In the past, I’ve had problems with my garage door opening with the remote. Now, my new computer is acting up. Sometimes when I start it up it just gets to the desktop and doesn’t load anything. No matter what I click nothing loads or happens. I scanned it with 3 different anti-virus/spyware programs and nothing was found. The room its in has a window facing directly at the towers. I blocked the window with some stuff and the computer works normally so far. Could the electromagnetic radiation be affecting my pc? I recently installed Melodyne, and it definitely screwed up my core audio in Logic, Garageband, AND Ableton live. As bummed as I am about not being able to have Melodyne, I need to fix this somehow! I deleted Melodyne, but the programs still aren’t opening. Help!

I’ve been trying to uninstall “Symantec AntiVirus” from my computer because it is expired and I want to install a new Anti-Virus program. When my computer (XP or Vista) is idle for a few minutes, the read-write lamp begins to flash like a defrag or virus scan is running. When I open the task manager, a “system idle process” seems to be active. I have turned off scheduled defragmenting, windows defender and virus scans, and even in my travel laptop with no antivirus this “dreaming” occures. It must be a windows component as this happens even on a new computer, without any third party software. I’d rather not have my hard drive thrashing like this every day if it is not necessary. Alright, today it seems like my mom’s computer has a virus attack… so I just try to find a way to fix it, but i can’t, why? BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM IS INFECTED. I found it hard to believe that everything could be infected and thought it was just an antivirus plot for us to buy something. We don’t have really have an antivirus (Just the standard free scan only that come installed every computer) but a thing that keeps popping up is antivirus live or something along the lines of that. Also, the webpage porno.com or .org or something like keeps popping up. I ran it in safe mode but guess what? First, Some History: For the past couple of months, my computer has been BSODing after being idle with the top closed after 10-20 minutes Today, I installed Kaspersky Antivirus, Here where the real trouble begins, the computer kept freezing and BSODing on me, I kept having to turn it off by the power button, now the computer won’t even go past the dell boot screen, it says “Internal HDD Not Found” and makes loads of loud beeping noises. Unless hackers and viruses have turned a new leaf what did I do that fixed my pc. It was glitching every so often the programs would say not responding and have a white film over them I couldn’t do nothing I did the following. Scanned for viruses with Nod 32 scanned with spy bot (found faults) scanned with pc utillities (found faults) I also booted and tryed fixing with the windows cd the final thing I tried was to boot in safe mode which was the last thing I did and it started working so was it the safe mode and the only thing I can see altering is the visual display. did this fix my pc. I think it has a virus which should be able to fix and one of the usb ports has been pushed in but this should also be easy to fix. Everything else is in good condition? I paid around 1000 for it. I have two computers that I’m now having problems with. yesterday, my first computer shut down and said “RPC has been terminated”. everytime I restart that computer, it gives me another 1:00 minute shut down warning. I know I need to change the settings of the RPC, but it shuts down before I can ever get to it. is there another way to fix this? The second computer messed up today. I was researching how to fix the other RPC problem and my computer shut down. when it rebooted, I now have “Internet security 2010″ installed and I can’t delete it. I had a similiar virus before and was able to manually delete the virus, but this one won’t let me open task manager or the registry to delete it. it’s even taken over my Internet and won’t let me on. so I’m stuck trying to research problems on my iPhone. I read somewhere that if you can’t get task manager to open that you need to wipe out your hard drive. I am wanting to do this but I can’t find my reinstallation CD for this computer which is an emachines. however, I have the installation cd for the other computer with the RPC problem, but that computer is a Dell. can I install a Dell operating system on my emachines? they’re both windows XP. My computor says it has a virus, and it wants me to download their anti virus software ( which I know is just spyware and is a scam) so I always press cancel. Anytime I am connected to wireless internet it periodically stops functioning as if I am no longer connected. However, the computer shows that it is still connected, and people around me are having no problems at all. This usually happens four or five times in a two hour period. It was my sisters old computer, which always worked fine for her but when put it in my room it no longer works properly. The keyboard and mouse are still on, the number lock light is illuminated, but when i hit Cap lock the light doesn’t come on. The computer isn’t frozen, the clock works and the little hour glass appears by the mouse. Because the buttons don’t work Ctrl Alt Del doesn’t work, or Alt F4. I can’t open a virus scan either. Hi Ok my grandma got a new desktop a few weeks ago, it came with a free trial of McAfee which I installed for her no probs (have it myself at home) She already bought a different antivirus package (Bulldog?) which I was going to install when the McAfee trial was up. Anyway my little brother has been up for xmas and since there’s only a few days of the McAfee trial left thought he would install it now for her. Since then the pc goes on to the desktop and thats about it, it wont let me open anything in the controll panel and cant get on the internet. It wont even turn off so have to do it by the button! I think Limewire is simply a Peer to Peer program for file sharing. If that’s right then surely you can get a virus if the person you get a file from has it. Video files do not contain viruses. Neither do mp3 or jpg files. Viruses can be find in executable files (.exe) .dll files and a few other types. I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 with Windows Vista. My mouse locks up and the computer freezes. I thought it was a virus but after running a scan, it still kept happening. My computer had a virus and we got it rebooted and after getting it rebooted there is no sound but when I go on device manager and check it says the sound is fine and games that require sound are playing I think it has something to do with the settings. I went and checked almost all of them and there seems to be no problem last time there was a similar problem and someone sorted it out they sound sound was going in as an input and not coming out as an out put if this is the problem does someone know how I can adjust and if this is not the problem what is the problem. After my computer was infected with verious viruses, I removed the antivirus and installed a new antivirus and scanned my laptop. After this scanning, the laptop hybernate option does not work. Some alert comes and says that the computer doesn’t have enough ( ) to load hybernate option. So if any one of u could tell me the reason and the solution of this problem, i will be pleasured.

Im not sure if it’s got virus. But, when i switch on the laptop it shows the make and the “windows” thing. Shuts down by itself.. And opens automatically. This goes on till yu switch it off by pressing the power button. When i decided to format it by using the cd.. it says the hard disk is not found. now my dad wants to give the laptop to one of his friends who says he can fix it. The problem is, there are some personal pictures of me and my boyfriend. I dont want him to see it

I have two computers that I’m now having problems with. yesterday, my first computer shut down and said “RPC has been terminated”. everytime I restart that computer, it gives me another 1:00 minute shut down warning. I know I need to change the settings of the RPC, but it shuts down before I can ever get to it. is there another way to fix this? The second computer messed up today. I was researching how to fix the other RPC problem and my computer shut down. when it rebooted, I now have “Internet security 2010″ installed and I can’t delete it. I had a similiar virus before and was able to manually delete the virus, but this one won’t let me open task manager or the registry to delete it. it’s even taken over my Internet and won’t let me on. so I’m stuck trying to research problems on my iPhone. I read somewhere that if you can’t get task manager to open that you need to wipe out your hard drive. I am wanting to do this but I can’t find my reinstallation CD for this computer which is an emachines. however, I have the installation cd for the other computer with the RPC problem, but that computer is a Dell. can I install a Dell operating system on my emachines? they’re both windows XP.

i have an Hp Pavillion a6430w,and today i had to restart it since i had installed a free trial of an antivirus,anywyas it would not restart it would get to the part when it loads on the bottom middle of the screen, but it just kept loading and not going anywhere, i had to restart it several times for it to finally work. any one else have this problem or know what might be causing this? my PC has shitty Windows Vista

I tried to download ad-aware after I got infected, but it will not let me open or download ANY antivirus software to quarantine or remove this spyware virus. It just keeps giving me popups that say I have been infected would you like to activate your security software and then ads like Viagra will appear. So I was being totally retarded the other night and going through random websites and suddenly my computer was infected with some kind of virus thing with spyware and whatever. I tried up update my anti virus, which in return corrupted all of my drivers for mouse keyboard and back up hard drive. So I put in the only disc that came with the computer and was going to reinstall them, but it was a recovery disc. While it was doing whatever I noticed it said backing up files. When I got into the computer ….everything was gone…. So my question is… Is there any way possible to get any information back? At the moment there’s something wrong that it won’t even let my USB wireless internet to connect, so I can’t download anything. You always hear that even though something is deleted it can still be found….is that the case here too? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve had my laptop for approximately two years and all of a sudden it has started to shut down constantly. I downloaded freeware to catch viruses, etc., and it cleaned my laptop up, but the problem still persists. It’s really starting to frustrate me!!!!!!! I don’t know if this is an overheating problem or what I should do if it’s that or an internal problem. Any advice? I really need this fixed as it keeps shutting down while I write my final papers for school! I graduate in two weeks and I really need to fix this NOW! Thanks in advance!

i gota virus or someting from btjunkie im sure ur familiar with that site. i go on theyre and get games like i normally do and one of them ****** up my pc. i used avg and some other thing and it helped alittle bit. at first it wouldnt even let me pull up task manager to end something that wasnt working. but my pc isnt completly healed. its slow as a mofu, and my internet connection changed to 10.0 mbps. and it freezes at times and i need to reboot it. but when i turn it on bfore i can do anything something pops up and says error loading C:\WWINDOWS\system32\msaouahn.dll the specified module could not be found

My friend in Nebraska has asked me to help her with her laptop (i live in AZ ,she used to live here too). She downloaded a bunch of viruses disguised as a virus danger warning from the main OS (ironic huh?) all I know to do is to take it to a computer store like best buy or get a free anti virus software. i have a problem with my internal HDD. When this all happened, i was playing a game online. I got a Virus Worm and i shut down my computer and reformatted my HDD and put windows back on. I had a secondary HDD in for back-up purposes. so got windows in and put everything back, but i then noticed that my computers performance went down drastically with my main HDD, I could not copy anything i had onto the back-up drive and once i did it was so slow to copy the file. Once i had all the files on the back-up drive, i decided to start from the back-up drive with windows. Same applied. It was really slow with the reading-and-writing. i decided to take the secondary back-up drive out and boot from the main HDD. Everything seemed to be running smoothly i checked the main HDD Temperature with HD tune. The drives temp was 37 degrees Celsius, and the drive went to normal temperature of 43-44 degrees Celsius. I then decided to plug in the secondary HDD and leave it on for a day. the temperature went from 43-44 degrees to 47-48 degrees Celsius. So my guess is that the HDD drives are getting way to hot, and i am getting what seems like bad sectors in the drive, but it has never done this before. I have always had my back-up drive in ever since i got my main HDD. I can’t place my finger on what is wrong with my drives. Once the main HDD is lower temperatures the drive seems to be performing better. but its normal temperature is 43-44 degrees Celsius and i still have some problems with reading and writing then. Can someone tell me what has happened please. I dont know if it was from the worm virus or if the temperatures are getting too hot (but has never done this before) can someone tell me what to do. I have changed the line leading into the motherboard as well, and that seems to have no effect. i even swapped the board lines between the CD drives and the HDD drives, no effect on that either. can someone tell me what is going on, i have ran out of options.

ok so yeah it caught it, and it got put in quarantined items, so i deleted it, it still says that the virus is in the history, does that still mean that it can bring down my system? or does it mean that the trojan virus is history now and its just showing what got caught? im not too muh of an expert on cp and viruses but i think i got rid of the virus, didn’t i? this is probably a useless question, but i just wanna know if i got rid of the Trojan virus, its in the history and thats it, nothing else

Well i hav windows 7 and it was workin perfectly then suddenly it comes up with a threat detected saying C:/Windows/Temp/Bla bla bla/Svchost.exe. Note: ignore the Bla bla bla. its some random file i dont know and it is a temp. so anyway can anyone help me plz. I scaned my computer with AVG Virus System and it came up with trogan virus detected C:/ProgramFiles/WarcraftIII/WarcraftIII.… and FronzenThrone.exe. this pisses me off! and that has nothing to do with this. so like every few miuntes it comes up with a error sayin some threat has been detected. and everytime i try to open WarcraftIII.exe and Frozen Throne.exe it comes up with an error sayin WarcraftIII.exe Or Frozen Throne.exe Trojan virus detected. which has nothin to do with the Svchost.exe. this came up just after i started mukin around with This so called Svchost.exe file which is under system32. I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed in my HCL laptop. Last month i was encrypting my external hard disk with “bit locker drive encryption”. It started normally, but suddenly after 49%, it stuck, displaying an error: “An error occurred. This disk has one or more errors, run chkdsk/r, if the error persist this may be indicative of a hardware fault…” I then thought to decrypt my data back and to disable the protection. When I tried doing this, after some time my PC hanged and the operation got aborted. When I restarted my system, i found that the disk is not being detected. It is not shown in “computer”, although the disk lights were on. I tried running the hard disk in “Ubuntu OS”, it works there, but all my data is encrypted. My hard disk is absolutely fine and OK. There is no problem with hardware and no virus is there in my PC as well. What to do now? How can i get my data back and how can i decrypt my harddisk? Please help, since this data worths me a lot. The capacity of my hard disk is 250GB and its a Western Digital brand. Thanks, Niks.

I have some hard disk errors on a laptop I’m fixing for a friend. There were probably viruses that removed important system and boot files. I tried the Windows XP recovery CD but it didn’t work. I’m now running a program called HDAT2 to check and repair bad sectors. However, if I decided to use their option of “wiping hard drive/disk”, does the hard drive become useless? Or can I still install Windows on it using an ISO CD?

I am unable to open web sites because this personal security web site keeps popping up. it is telling me there is no virus protection found on my computer. I have norton 360 as well as macafee. it won’t even uninstall from the add and remove program. I’ve had my laptop since like April, and just at the beginning of this month it started getting really slow (online and offline), and eventually started warning me about how my hard disk is apparently bad, and I should send it to my manufacturer or something. I was able to hit cancel on these notifications and ignore them, and go about whatever I was doing. I don’t want to buy a whole new laptop :(. Maybe ignoring the warnings of imminent failure wasn’t wise, but I can’t even boot up right anymore. It was just a bad hard disk, I don’t think I had any terrible viruses. In fact I don’t even know what caused this. —-the question——- But yeah, if I bought a new hard drive, would that fix everything? I’d be pretty much back to where I was when I first got the thing, assuming I bought a hard drive of the same size? —————————– I assume it’s the slightly cheaper option as opposed to buying a whole new laptop (Dell Studio 15). If I did, would I just unscrew/take out the hard drive in there now, buy a new one and screw that one in? And I’m good to go? I don’t care about the files that were on there, I’m not losing anything important. But like I said, it’s only the hard disk that’s bad, as far as I know. I don’t think the whole laptop is garbage or anything. Today i opened itunes and noticed that some of my songs wont play. its like they dont exist. If i double click on them it doesn’t do anything. If 1 song that does work goes to the next song (one that doesnt) it will just skip over it. I can play those songs that dont work in itunes in windows media player. Also when i tried importing some of the songs into sony vegas 8 it says to make sure i have permission and that the file is not corrupt (something like that), and it wont let me import those songs. Idk if this has anything to do with it but right now i dont have a anitvirus program. Please someone help. It seems avira can’t open and scan the files containing the virus, ive tried spybot, but it only removes spyware and not the virus itself. I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with Vista. I downloaded a MS word file which was attached to an email (no viruses, as far as I know). I then right clicked on the icon and renamed the file. A new icon with the new name appeared, and works fine to open the file. The old icon remained on the desktop and will neither open nor delete. When I try to open it it asks what program to use (even though it’s a .doc), I pick Word, then nothing happens. When I try to drag it to the recycle bin it says it’s no longer located on the desktop and I need to verify its location. It says its size is 0 bytes. Tried restarting, shutting down and booting back up, still there. What should I do?

Anytime I am connected to wireless internet it periodically stops functioning as if I am no longer connected. However, the computer shows that it is still connected, and people around me are having no problems at all. This usually happens four or five times in a two hour period. I try reconnecting, but it only lasts maybe ten minutes. My computer is regularly scanned for viruses.

I’m looking for a 750GB 7200RPM hard drive for my Dell Vostro 1520. The 250GB I have only runs in Safe Mode because of a virus I can’t remove. My virus protection was malfunctioning for a short time yesterday, and during that time I got a virus. I believe I’ve gotten rid of it, but I’m now experiencing another problem, which I suspect is some sort of malware that got onto my computer at the same time as the other virus. Whenever I try to do a search (mainly just searches pertaining to the problem at hand, although some normal searches as well), any link that comes up redirects me to a site to buy things or page of fake search engine results. I’m not sure what’s going on and I can’t find out because whatever has installed itself on my computer or in my browser is hijacking my search results. I’m sure there’s an answer out there, but I can’t find it because I can’t do a proper search. Any tips you can give me for how to eliminate this problem would be greatly appreciated. I use Firefox and XP Professional. Also, I have been receiving a lot of notifications from Nortons that an IP address in Luxembourg (212.117.174.176) is trying to attack my computer. my computer properties is showing that it is manufactured and supported br DARWIN-SYSTEM ENGINEER. This change has occured only a few weeks before. I tried uninstalling many programs that I have installed recently. But, in vain. Do anyone experienced this problem? Or is this hacking??? Or is this due to virus??? Please help. My pc also restart automatically for 5 or 6 times from 9.59pm(Indian Standard Time) everyday. Please help. I’m completely screwed.

I logged on today and it just wasn’t there. It’s not hidden. I’ve tried putting explorer into the task manager and it popped up for a couple seconds then disappeared again. When I rebooted it, It was there for a couple seconds and again, poofed. I scanned my computer for virus’s and nothing came up with that. Can someone tell me what to do? I’ve seen many of these kinds of questions with no answers that worked for me.

Earlier I kept getting notices from my computer about downloading anti-spyware and how my computer is at risk and how they found a bunch of trojans and worms on my computer. So I opened my McAfee (thats the security I use and I thought it would alert me for any problems) so I checked it, no sweat it said nothing was wrong, so I wrote off the ones my computer was sending me because I was on the internet and I was trying to find a profile layout generator, and I thought that maybe it was false. So just in case I decide to run a virus scan to make sure everything is cool. I walk away from my computer for a few moments, and when i come back my computer is off. So I try to reboot it and it wont work. It refuses to reboot in windows regular. It gets to the little microsoft booting screen and then right before it hits the little chime and windows logo it turns black and just stays like that and wont do anything else. So I tried running a system restore point and a start-up repair in safe mode, I thought it would fix, I try again to reboot it, it does the same thing. But before my computer went haywire my McAfee said nothing was wrong, now here I am in safe mode trying to fix my computer, and McAfee is alerting me about how all my files need attention and how there all at risk.

I recently got this virus, I am currently in Safemode with Networking, It wont let me start up any programs except online like enet and mozilla. Even when i try to install a new antivir program it wont start anything up. please help me..

ok i usually get the “internet explorer cannot display this webpage” if there’s something wrong with a site or my connection. but lately, i’ve been getting this page and part of the address is “mybrowserbar.com” and i get it A LOT! even on sites i regularly visit or in pages of a site. is it a virus? malware? how can i make it stop?

sometimes i have a full signal then i suddenly loose connection sometimes i have a low signal then the connection drops completely i tried changing the channel on my router, that did no good i tried power cycling my broadcom card has the latest driver i tried disabling all my antivirus software i am using network magic, so i am thinking i have to manually set an ip address for my computer, but i don’t know for sure

I think Limewire is simply a Peer to Peer program for file sharing. If that’s right then surely you can get a virus if the person you get a file from has it. Video files do not contain viruses. Neither do mp3 or jpg files. Viruses can be find in executable files (.exe) .dll files and a few other types.

i realy want to make animated vids. and i heard you can download it for free on zdsoft.com. but lately, i had to reformat my laptop cuz of viruses. btw, if anyone still uses mangafox.com, i recommend you not. thats where i got the virus and also from anilinkz.com. but anyways, nowadays i need to be very careful. so if anyone had experienced having viruses from zdsoft.com, pleas let me know.!

It runs on commands making it harder to infect. Currently there only exist about 100 known viruses for linux systems. Where Windows have thousands:P No Anti virus required~

I have gotten a virus on my computer.. It’s a rogue anti-virus program that says I have a whole lot of viruses and have to buy their program. I know not to click it or anything.. but after I try to run some antivirus and malware programs, it just freezes. I’ve tried running it in safe mode but I can’t find a program that will work in safe mode.. Can anyone help me somehow?

…My screen saver didn’t come on and the screen went black and said something like ‘video driver and 3-D wasn’t up to date’, so I went to Intel and updated driver and ran some kind of program. My Avira Anti virus come up saying I had malware, I cleaned it. Checked to see if my screen saver came up, it didn’t. So I tried system restore, didn’t work. restored for an earlier time, didn’t work. What is wrong and how can I fix it…without using my recovery disks which it looks like i will have to do. I’ve used recovery several times (E-Machines 7-disk recovery) cause people have got on here and got viruses on here. I feel doing Recovery so many times is straining my computer and I don’t want to keep doing it. Should I just get another motherboard?

I don’t think I’m losing the monitor, it’s a fairly new laptop designed for Windows XP by Dell. I’m renting to own it and before I’m done paying it off I want to make sure nothing is wrong with it. I don’t use up a lot of space more 2/3rds of the hard drive memory is still available. No viruses ect. The laptop tends to get hot, so I have an icepack wrapped in plastic to keep it cool and protect against moisture. It’s doing a great job at keeping cool. So if anyone has any suggestions as to what it is and what I should tell the ppl at RAC, I’d like to know what. Refs preferred.

okay so the other day this program SpyEraser popped up saying that i have a virus. but the problem is that i did not even downlaod this spyware and i dont know how to get rid of it! and it pops up like every minute. and ever since it first showed up, my computer has been running very slow! HELP!

Last night my computer rebooted without warning or explanation. It came back up with everything normal seeming so I assumed it was one of those bastard windows updates. About an hour later I was using firefox and then it stopped responding to clocks. Outside of firefox, a mouseclick was recognized once per item, but no more. Using alt + ctrl + del results in the icon for the system monitor showing up in the tasktray, but nothing more. I could not interact. I rebooted it in safe mode and used system restore to take it to about 3 days back. (I haven’t had any other day work so far and I’ve tried at least 10 different days.) I thought it had fixed it, and I left the computer running all night with no programs open. In the morning, I went to firefox and after about 10 minutes, everything locked again. Rebooted and tried internet explorer with the same result. I just now removed firefox 3.0 and then installed 3.5, but that didn’t change anything. While downloading new nvidia drivers (I suspect that it’s a graphical problem) the system locked again and I just now rebooted. I am very frustrated. Neither AVG nor SpyRemover find any viruses or other malware. They’re both up to date. Part of what is bothering me is that there are no symptoms of viruses or malware outside of this. In some ways, that would almost be preferable. At the moment though, I am stuck, so please do what you can to help.

Ive broke my laptop not very long ago, and the laptop was really good thought, it was very fast, no delays, and great. But ive Bought a new laptop, and its no where near as good. I have no idea wt make it is, but its kinda new. Its a windows vista, Toshiba, and thts all i know. But when i go on random websites it takes quit awhile to load up the page, and when im playing games, its very laggy, like when i click something it takes awhile to react. And the worst part, is my old laptop when i loaded the laptop, it would take about 30 secs to get to home page, now this laptop takes around 5 minuets?? Why?? Ive tried deleting some stuff, weve got virus protection, no viruses, Its got a big RAM, and over 200GB harddrive, but its 2 100GB harddrives. Please can somebody help me? Why is my new laptop so slow, and how can i make it alot quicker? and less delayed? Without having to buy tons of things to make laptop faster that cost a fortune.. Im only 15. And i dont want to buy a new laptop. Thanks for help!

My computer had a virus and we got it rebooted and after getting it rebooted there is no sound but when I go on device manager and check it says the sound is fine and games that require sound are playing I think it has something to do with the settings. I went and checked almost all of them and there seems to be no problem last time there was a similar problem and someone sorted it out they sound sound was going in as an input and not coming out as an out put if this is the problem does someone know how I can adjust and if this is not the problem what is the problem. When my computer (XP or Vista) is idle for a few minutes, the read-write lamp begins to flash like a defrag or virus scan is running. When I open the task manager, a “system idle process” seems to be active. I have turned off scheduled defragmenting, windows defender and virus scans, and even in my travel laptop with no antivirus this “dreaming” occures. It must be a windows component as this happens even on a new computer, without any third party software. I’d rather not have my hard drive thrashing like this every day if it is not necessary. What the heck is this?

Well i hav windows 7 and it was workin perfectly then suddenly it comes up with a threat detected saying C:/Windows/Temp/Bla bla bla/Svchost.exe. Note: ignore the Bla bla bla. its some random file i dont know and it is a temp. so anyway can anyone help me plz. I scaned my computer with AVG Virus System and it came up with trogan virus detected C:/ProgramFiles/WarcraftIII/WarcraftIII.… and FronzenThrone.exe. this pisses me off! and that has nothing to do with this. so like every few miuntes it comes up with a error sayin some threat has been detected. and everytime i try to open WarcraftIII.exe and Frozen Throne.exe it comes up with an error sayin WarcraftIII.exe Or Frozen Throne.exe Trojan virus detected. which has nothin to do with the Svchost.exe. this came up just after i started mukin around with This so called Svchost.exe file which is under system32. Can someone plz help me? Thx Guys! P.s Sorry for my bad language.

My friend in Nebraska has asked me to help her with her laptop (i live in AZ ,she used to live here too). She downloaded a bunch of viruses disguised as a virus danger warning from the main OS (ironic huh?) all I know to do is to take it to a computer store like best buy or get a free anti virus software. Any ideas on things that could help? by the way the thing that did it i think was called the antyvirus software fyi.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed in my HCL laptop. Last month i was encrypting my external hard disk with “bit locker drive encryption”. It started normally, but suddenly after 49%, it stuck, displaying an error: “An error occurred. This disk has one or more errors, run chkdsk/r, if the error persist this may be indicative of a hardware fault…” I then thought to decrypt my data back and to disable the protection. When I tried doing this, after some time my PC hanged and the operation got aborted. When I restarted my system, i found that the disk is not being detected. It is not shown in “computer”, although the disk lights were on. I tried running the hard disk in “Ubuntu OS”, it works there, but all my data is encrypted. My hard disk is absolutely fine and OK. There is no problem with hardware and no virus is there in my PC as well. What to do now? How can i get my data back and how can i decrypt my harddisk? Please help, since this data worths me a lot. The capacity of my hard disk is 250GB and its a Western Digital brand. Thanks, Niks.

I’ve been ripping songs off of videos using video2mp3 for a really long while and then a week ago, I got a computer virus–but I don’t think it was from ripping but could it be? Also, if the songs are already on my iPod, does the iPod retain the virus as well yet is just unaffected by the virus? I saved all my music files on a flash drive before I reformatted my computer and I haven’t installed any anti virus software yet–should I reload all my files or no?

So when ever i try to install this game warcraft III and the expansion, frozen throne my anti virus avg, says that are 4 corrupt files for both games. Both are trojans. When i try to heal them, nothing happens. It hasn’t affected my computer in any way. Could it be on the actual game disc? or the cd key? idk please help.

I suddenly noticed that most files names turned blue in font color in every directory i enter. i can not seem to change it back to black and i do not understand what have caused it. i thought maybe it is a virus or spyware since it happened suddenly, i checked for viruses and spywares/malwares and i could not find anything. Has anybody had any experience with this sort of phenomenon ? (i have winXP).

No. I will not do that because that will result in a conflict and you will end up messing up with your computer. I’d rather suggest you to use a better known anti virus to protect your computer or use Linux based OS so that your computer will be relatively less prone to viruses

Hi, i had my laptop about 3 weeks ago and 1 week ago i went to log into my account and after i put my password in and clicked enter it said welcome with the loading icon and just stayed like that. It did this every time i tried to log on. I could start it in safe mode. I just wiped my computer clean and started again with the disk. The same thing happened yesterday. I do not have a virus after doing scans from Mcafee and two other virus scans and they all found nothing. I have restarted my whole computer again and i am desperate to know what happened and how i can stop it from happening Again. My OS is Windows 7. Thanks

Hello everyone, i just installed a new PSU and GPU. I think i hooked everything up fine, then my PC got shut down twice, i thought it was the CPU overheating. I connected the fan in more tightly, that may have been the problem. However, my CPU is having a hard time running basic programs. As Im typing this, my CPU percentage is fluctuating between as low as 10% and as high as 30% or even 60% at times!! Im pretty sure i have no viruses, infact, this issue didnt start happening until i installed the new parts. Is it overheating? BIOS upon bootup says my temps are like 37degrees celsius. Anyone have ideas?

I’ve been to all the sites to help out with removing the program however they all request that I change the LAN settings. I do this but seconds later they get automatically changed back. Whenever I open a file the message: “Application cannot be executed… file is infected” Therefore I am unable to run any programs such as Task Manager in order to counter this virus. Can someone please help me out because it seems I am defenseless. Thankyou

My computer (xp) kept on showing this message about this csrss.exe thing….i have no experience with computers but i looked it up and it said that it’s a system file or it cud be a virus??? i searched my computer for csrss.exe files and 3 results came up….i’ll copy them onto this but can anybody tell me if any of these are viruses or not? please CSRSS.EXE-03323C54.pf location=C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch csrss.exe location=C:\WINDOWS\system32 csrss.exe location=C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i38… P.S. i scanned them with AVG but it said that it has no infections…i don’t know if i shud trust AVG I also scanned my whole computer with AVg and the sign about the csrss.exe doesn’t come up anymore but i need to know if any of those files are viruses or not…thanks for the help
