Auto warranty is a service under which vehicles will be maintained by the manufacturer for a set period of time. This period is called warranty period during which the cost of maintaining and repairing the vehicle will be the responsibility of the car manufacturer. The warranty scheme has been evolved to protect the interests of consumers apart from providing value for their money. The auto warranty is issued for all cars.
Normally, the auto warranty takes care of the car’s drive train, engine, power train, brake mechanism and steering system. The repairs and maintenance of these parts will be carried out for free during the warranty period, which normally lasts for two years from the date of the sale of the vehicle. Warranty is issued to all categories of cars, both used cars and brand new cars. The warranty issued to new cars is called new car warranty and the warranty issued to used cars is called aftermarket auto warranty. The used car warranty is also called as pre-owned car warranty. The spare parts and accessories damaged in accidents cannot be replaced under the auto warranty.Â
