Car Repositions Have Gone Up Drastically

images-23.jpgThe number of vehicle repossessions has gone up drastically this year, which is about to top 1.9 million, which is a significant jump of 15% since 2007. Chances are that a large number of those vehicles were large SUVs and trucks or luxury cars that mortgage brokers purchased when they thought the good times would keep on rolling forever.

Now that the housing bubble has popped, the large monthly payments and gas costs are practically unaffordable. People are opting for used cars with used car warranties and staying away from new cars. Unlike many other lenders, carmakers can’t really be blamed for giving out loans that are risky. Borrowers who have great credit scores are having their Mercedes’ yanked away, just like the people who got Honda Civics.

This is terrible news for carmakers, as if they haven’t had enough, because for a repossessed car the average loss is around $10,000. Then the repos that have been heavily discounted end up on dealership lots and give the small amount of car shoppers out there a good reason to buy a discounted repo with the addition of an auto warranty, instead of a new car.

The 2010 Ford Fiesta Offers Great Fuel-Efficiency

images-31.jpgFord has great expectations for the 2010 Fiesta subcompact.  With U.S. car shoppers turning to small, fuel-efficient cars with good new car warranties, as a solution to high fuel prices, the sales of Ford have been hurt by a lineup of primarily trucks.  Ford has currently suspended its idea of returning to profitability in 2009.  Instead, they are counting on the 2010 model year.  In the center of that effort will be the Fiesta, as well as a new Focus.

According to New Car Net, the car is seen “as a significant landmark in Ford’s history.”  In fact this is the first automobile by Ford that has been developed for customers all over the world, and is a trend for Ford’s future of global vehicles.

The Fiesta subcompact will be offered with several diesel options, or a four-cylinder that can reach 118 mph, and get mileage of 38.9 mpg combined.  This is much better than any car that is a non-hybrid on the market in the U.S.

The Ford Fiesta will be available for sale in Europe within three months, but will not reach showrooms in the U.S. until the model year of 2010.  However, at that time, consumers can purchase this car with an auto warranty and breathe a sigh of relief that they will have a reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle.

Get Deals On Minivans In This Poor Economy

images-22.jpgRegardless of if the economy is in its death throes, the children still need to be able to get to soccer, ballet, or baseball practice.  That means that the minivan will survive.

There has been a great deal of focus on falling truck and SUV sales, but the minivan has also experienced a slump lately.  For people who are interested in purchasing a minivan out there, know that there are many deals right now.  You will find some significant deals like getting $3,500 cash back for the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and $5,000 or 0% financing for 60 months for the 2008 Kia Sedona.

You can also get some cash-back deals on 2009 models as well.  For instance, you can get $2,500 cash back or 2.9% financing for 72 months for the 2009 Nissan Quest or get $1,000 back for the 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan.  In addition, be aware that you can get a good auto warranty with most new minivans.

Ford’s Customers Can Still Get Credit

images3.jpgWhen the Great Depression hit America, it came via a stock ticker, not via news outlets that are hyperventilating, and cable personalities that report around the clock.

So, what happens when every reporter on TV tells America that there isn’t any credit? Naturally, people believe them and assume that there’s no credit.

That is why Ford is trying to make it abundantly clear that its finance company is still lending to people who are shopping for cars. Ford’s financing will lease to and lend to people who have decent credit ratings, according to head of marketing and sales. In other words, consumers’ credit ratings don’t have to be sparkling and perfect.

Now the main challenge in this difficult market is for Ford to communicate that to buyers. Chances are that advertising will begin highlighting the fact that many automakers, not just Ford, still have loans that are available to most car shoppers. This is a major contrast to the latest news from GMAC, which restricts credit. Car shoppers can also feel encouraged that there are many great car deals out there and new car warranties are huge.

Certified Pre-Owned Cars Are A Great Option For Buyers

images-93.jpgHere is a question for car consumers:  What has the low cost of a used car with the reliability and auto warranty of a brand new car?  The answer is a certified pre-owned car.

The term CPO is used in the car industry to identify late model used cars that have low-mileage.  These automobiles have gone through a detailed inspection and come with an auto warranty by the factory to back them up.  CPOs are usually in better shape than other used cars and have a maintenance schedule that can be verified by using Carfax.

Most of the time certified pre-owned programs come with an inspection, auto warranty, and an option to return the vehicle if you decide you don’t like it.  What you end up getting for the extra money you spend on a CPO vehicle varies quite a bit.  For instance, Lexus will give you a 100,000 total vehicle and 3 year limited warranty on its CPO cars.  Chrysler, on the other hand, gives an inspection with a return policy, but only offers a limited auto warranty of 3,000-mile, 3 months.

In order for consumers to feel like they have the same service as a new car, they should ensure that they get an extension of the factory auto warranty offered.

Buying Car Parts

images-83.jpgMost people don’t realize that there is certain etiquette involved when buying parts at the parts counter.  Following this etiquette will allow you to get the parts that you want without unnecessary hassle and keep you from driving the staff crazy.

When you go to a parts counter at a dealership you need to have your VIN handy, which is basically the magic key to all of the car codes.  At places such as Advance Auto or NAPA, you just need to know the make, model, year, and engine of your car.

Make sure to know what the part’s name is that you need.  If this is something you don’t know, be able to describe what it looks like or what it is going to attach to.  Don’t make up a name for the part you want; this is where 90% of wrong parts come from.  If worse comes to worse, take the staff out to your car and point to the part you’re looking for.

When ordering an expensive part you want to ask about return policies and auto warranty terms.  And get the answer in writing.  This can be as simple as having him write the information on the receipt.  This will save a lot of hassle if something breaks down the line.

Finally, don’t go to the parts counter to diagnose your vehicle.  Counter-staff gets very annoyed when you try to return a part because it wasn’t even the problem in the first place.

Following these simple etiquette tips will allow you to get the parts that you need with little hassle.  And make sure you have used car warranties, because you never know when your vehicle will need to be repaired.

Ensure That Your Road Trip Goes Smoothly

images-73.jpgOne of the family activities that are the most fun is going on road trips. Over the spring and summer, American families will go on over 320 trips. Although enjoyable, frustration can accompany families on the road. Take note of the following do’s and don’ts in order to ensure that your family has a great trip.

The most important thing that you can do is to get your family vehicle a tune-up. Your vehicle needs to be in top-notch condition. Nothing is worse than having your car breakdown, leaving you stranded. This is why an auto warranty is a necessity.

You should plan ahead so that your family knows what is happening during the trip. This will alleviate stressful situations and help things to go smoothly. In addition, you might want to purchase software to plan your trip and invest in a GPS. This advanced technology will act as your guide to your desired destination.

Of course, you never know when you will run into speed bumps throughout your trip. For example, road construction and traffic are inevitable. However, your trip doesn’t have to be ruined by these inconveniences. In addition, you can rest assured if you have used car warranties.

Hyundai Is Busy With Production

images-42.jpgHyundai has been busy, constantly introducing new products.  The latest might be the most exciting so far.  The Genesis Coupe stirred up lots of attention at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, although it was still in a conceptual form.  The car has lost little in translation with production.

The Genesis Coupe has an aggressive styling, which was emulated after a predatory animal.  You can really see this in the headlights that are angled and the twisting lines that are below the beltline.

The goal for the new coupe was to design a performance vehicle that’s design would catch the attention of automotive enthusiasts.

The Genesis Coupe doesn’t just look the part.  It is going to be available with an engine that is 3.8-liter DOHC V6 and will produce 306 horsepower.  It will also be available in a 212-horsepower 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine.

The interior of the Genesis Coupe stays true to the performance look of the exterior.  However, the seats are comfortable and supportive and have side bolsters.  There is a push button starter and big speedometer.

Consumers should be able to purchase the 2010 model of the Genesis Coupe, along with new car warranties, early in the year 2009.  Pricing has not been announced, but it will likely have a value price like the rest of the Hyundai line.

GM Has Had To Discontinue Its Hot Windshield Fluid System

images-21.jpgAfter recalling 944,000 vehicles, GM has had to discontinue its HotShot windshield washer system, which was responsible for an electrical short.  So far, the malfunction has caused 34 auto warranty claims and three fires as a result of a short in the circuit board, which caused the control-circuit ground wire to overheat.

GM claims that the system’s supplier, Microheat, is responsible for the dangerous glitch.  GM feels that Microheat should pay the $20 million to $25 million that has been estimated for the cost of the recall.  However, the supplier claims that it is still owed by GM for tooling and parts.  Microheat is already suffering financial troubles, which means the recall could cause Microheat to go out of business, even though its innovative system is great for getting rid of insect remains in warm months and ice in cold months.

GM is going to fix this problem at dealerships for free before November 1st.  Vehicles that were involved in the recall are the Cadillac DTS and Escalade; the Buick Lucerne and Enclave; the GMC Yukon, Sierra and Acadia; the Hummer H2; the Saturn Outlook; and the Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe.

New Vehicles That Are Ecologically Responsible

images-112.jpgAutomakers around the world are realizing that motorists are looking for ecologically friendly vehicles.  There are many new vehicle models that provide fuel-efficiency, yet look great.  Here are some of the newest.

The VW Golf TDI Hybrid provides low emissions with longer legs.  This is a compact hatchback that is popular in Europe.  It utilizes a high-tech engine that is diesel and an auto start-stop.  Also, it has a DSG gearbox that has 7 speeds, as well as an electric motor.  This car gets 69 mpg.

The Audi TT TDI is proof that a great looking sports car doesn’t have to be a gas-guzzler.  This car can sprint from 0-62 mph in 7.5 seconds flat with its 170 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.  This car has the power of a sports car with the fuel-efficiency of a compact car.

People are realizing that fuel-efficient cars are a must with gas prices around $4 per gallon.  Consumers are protecting their wallets with eco friendly vehicles and new car warranties.
