The Ideal Family Vehicle

images-25.jpgIt can be difficult to find a car that is suitable for the needs of a family.  In fact, consumers can often feel overwhelmed with all of the choices.  So, what are some necessary considerations when purchasing a family car?

First, most families are in search of an affordable vehicle.  This typically means that the sticker price is under $30,000 and comes with a good auto warranty.  There are many good quality vehicles out there that go for less than $30,000, so if you are looking at a company that can’t produce a good vehicle for this price, you’re searching with the wrong company.

One very important feature for a family car is comfort.  Five people should be able to fit into a vehicle comfortably, otherwise no one will be happy.  Also, make sure that you have sufficient cargo space for groceries, hobbies, etc.

Safety is essential in a family vehicle.  Many of the new car models have innovative safety features capable of saving people’s lives.  For instance, the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu incorporates the OnStar system of communication, which has the Advanced Automatic Crash Notification.

Try not to get overwhelmed with the shopping process when looking for a family vehicle.  Just take these tips into consideration and make sure purchase an auto warranty in case of unforeseen repairs.

Purchasing A Used Vehicle From A Dealership

images-24.jpgReputable dealerships typically sell vehicles that are sound because they don’t want to have to fix big mechanical issues down the road.  Chances are, if a car drives smooth when you test-drive it, it is probably fine.  However, there is a chance that you might end up with a lemon.  To protect you, purchase an auto warranty and follow these simple tips.

It’s always essential to have a professional look at the car you want to purchase.  You can request to see paperwork if the dealer says that the car was already inspected by their mechanic, but using an outside technician allows you to hear an objective point of view.

You also want to check and make sure that the vehicle has a title that is clear, and that it hasn’t been involved in an accident.  To do this, request that the dealer look on Carfax or AutoCheck.  These are both websites in which you can pay a small fee to have the car identification number traced for service and odometer registrations, as well as accidents.  Many times, dealers will check their vehicles for you with no charge.

Most of the time, purchasing a used car from a dealership is safe, but taking precautions will ensure that you make a good decision.  Also, buying used car warranties will allow you to have peace of mind in the event that you need to have repairs.

The Benefits Of Buying Certified Pre-Owned Cars

images-4.jpgHere is a question for car consumers: What has the low cost of a used car with the reliability and auto warranty of a brand new car? The answer is a certified pre-owned car.

The term CPO is used in the car industry to identify late model used cars that have low-mileage. These automobiles have gone through a detailed inspection and come with an auto warranty by the factory to back them up. CPOs are usually in better shape than other used cars and have a maintenance schedule that can be verified by using Carfax.

Most of the time certified pre-owned programs come with an inspection, auto warranty, and an option to return the vehicle if you decide you don’t like it. What you end up getting for the extra money you spend on a CPO vehicle varies. For instance, Lexus will give you a 100,000 total vehicle and 3 year limited auto warranty on its CPO cars. Chrysler, on the other hand, gives an inspection with a return policy, but only offers a limited auto warranty of 3,000-mile, 3 months.

In order for customers to feel like they have the same service as a new car, they should ensure that they get an extension of the factory auto warranty offered.

How To Purchase A Car If You Have Poor Credit

images-19.jpgWhen determining the amount of money you can pay for a vehicle you must consider your credit.  Yet, experts say that consumers should shop around at various dealers to make comparisons on special deals on financing.

To help with your car shopping experience, request a copy of your credit report by going through a credit agency.  This will give you knowledge when it comes time to talk to a dealer about your financing.

You can look at some web-based tools for help.  For instance, go to AutoTrader.com to find a credit center designed for people trying to purchase a car with poor credit.  This is one of the few websites that doesn’t require personal, confidential information.  In fact, you are only asked general questions that allow you to have privacy.

After filling out the questionnaire you will receive a credit level of excellent, good, or fair.  Then, you can search the car dealerships in your area that will be able to help you with your needs in regards to financing.

Look to websites to prepare you with information that will help you when you go to the dealership.  You can learn about the prices of cars, credit scores, and an auto warranty.  This will allow you to get the best deal possible.

Research Is Key When Purchasing A Used Vehicle

images-18.jpgIf you are shopping for a used car, rely on professional opinions, but also make yourself an expert.  Just by doing research on such things as an auto warranty and vehicle features, you can arm yourself with some much needed buying information.  Here are a few things to look for when examining a vehicle.

First, take a look at how worn the pedals are.  Motorists rarely update pedals, so this will tell you the true history of the car.

You don’t want to purchase a vehicle that has frame-damage.  You can determine this by examining the core support of the radiator, which connects to the front fenders.  This should be welded on either side, not bolted.

Next, look at the paint job on the car.  Take special notice of scratches, dents, and rust spots.  If you see slight waviness on the car this will indicate a paint job.

The most important thing that you can do when buying a used vehicle is to check the car’s history.  You can go to autocheck.com to do this.

Doing your homework can give you much needed knowledge when purchasing a used vehicle, but you also want to buy an auto warranty to protect yourself from unnecessary repair costs in the future.

The 2009 Audi A4

images-23.jpgThe 2009 Audi A4 is set to hit dealerships this September.  This car doesn’t disappoint with its luxury offerings, and appears to be a four-door version of the Audi A5 coupe.

This vehicle has several systems that are practically brand new, such as the Audi Drive Select.  This is a system that’s purpose is to sharpen the sporting responses in the car incrementally.  The A4 also has dynamic steering, a side object warning system, a warning for lane departure, and cruise control that is automated.

Individually, none of the A4s systems are revolutionary, yet all together, and in a fully optioned German sedan for under $40,000 and with the addition of an auto warranty, you have a cool, charismatic vehicle that could launch Audi a second time.

But how is the updated A4 different than the previous version?  The new vehicle is longer by 4.6 inches and 2.1 inches wider.  Its powertrain is designed in such a way that the front differential is located between the transmission and the engine.

American Cars Have Faced A Steep Decline

images-17.jpgIn June, car sales saw a significant decline in America as consumers practically shunned pickup trucks and SUVs due to the increasing gas prices in the already weak economy.  The high gas prices have caused a decline in the price of new cars because carmakers don’t have a sufficient supply of cars that are fuel-efficient.

According to Autodata sales have plummeted with a yearly rate of 13.6 million cars on a monthly basis when compared to 14.3 cars sold in May, which indicates reduced sales across the board.  The statistics from this survey show that sales are weaker than they have been in a long time.

The Asian carmakers did much better than the U.S. automakers that were caught off-guard by the shifting purchasing patterns of drivers.  The brands from Asia were able to capture 46.2% of the total amount of sales, where U.S. brands had 45.8% of sales.

Consumers are apprehensive to purchase vehicles right now because of the poor economy and high fuel prices.  Many people are opting to hold onto their current cars and purchase used car warranties, but others are buying small, fuel-efficient vehicles that allow them to save money on gas.

The Chevrolet Beat Mini Car

images-22.jpgGM is saying that they are going to make it a high priority to decide if they are going to bring the Chevrolet Beat mini car to the market in the U.S. by 2012. This car came in first place in an online voting poll by 1.8 million consumers around the world on three of GMs mini-car concepts.

GM is altering the product plans that they had planned for the next decade, reacting to the lack of demand for vehicles that use a lot of gas. The upcoming generation of GMs mini cars, which the Beat is based on, will debut in years to come and will have the capability to get 40mpg.

In the first part of this year U.S. sales for GM declined 16%, and the carmaker is scrambling to meet the demand for its small, fuel-efficient vehicles.

GM is just one of the automakers planning to enter a mini-car into their lineup. Smart cars are the only minis on the market that are serious at this point, but their sales far exceeded their expectations.

With fuel prices exceeding $4 per gallon, consumers are protecting their wallets by demanding fuel-efficient cars and purchasing new car warranties. People are feeling the pinch in all aspects of their lives.

Car Dealerships Are Remodeling To Bring In Business

images-16.jpgCar dealerships are going to great lengths to bring in business for servicing.  This includes repainting, brightening lights, and adding new signs.  And in the waiting area customers are enjoying WiFi access, flat screen TVs, workstations and coffee bars.

Dealers rely on their parts and service departments for profit.  Typically half of their profits come from service, while the rest comes from sales of used and new cars.

But with the sales of new cars plummeting, most dealers lost money on new cars in 2007.  This is why dealers are renovating their body shops, adding quick oil change lanes, and trying to compete with independent service shops.  In a NADA survey in 2007, 29% of dealerships said they had upgraded their service shops recently.

Dealerships have also felt the squeeze because their auto warranty repairs have been cut way down and service appointments have been spaced further apart because of the improvements in car quality.

The 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited

images-15.jpgThe Hyundai Sonata Limited has many updates for 2009, and is a solid entry into the four-door large sedan segment.  Although this isn’t really considered a luxury car, it has some features and equipment that are usually only found on luxury vehicles.

In acceleration and handling, this car has substantial performance.  The quality of the ride was in between soft and firm.  It appeared to be loose in some scenarios, while it was stiff in others.

The interior has clean lines and controls that can be operated with ease.  The seats in the front and rear were very comfortable and had plenty of legroom.  Also, the air conditioner operated efficiently even in above 100-degree temperatures.

When considering the content of the top-of-the-line Sonata, it was priced very reasonably.  An even better value would be the base GLS model starting at $18,120.  The Hyundai Advantage auto warranty gives you five year or 60,000 mile bumper to bumper, 10 year or 100,000 mile limited power train, five year/ unlimited mileage roadside assistance.
