Types of coverage features associated with the new car warranty

The new car warranty is an important fact in the new car purchase.  It is basically the manufacturer’s way of assuring that the vehicle would perform as they say it should.  The warranty itself could provide one of a number of types of coverage.

One of the best coverage that you could get with your new car warranty is the bumper-to-bumper warranty.  This type of warranty provides coverage for all the parts of the car excluding those that are susceptible to wear and tear damages.  The wear and tear coverage feature is another type of warranty coverage altogether – it covers all the parts of the car that may need replacing due to wear and tear damages.  The general difference between these two types of warranty is that the bumper-to-bumper coverage facilitates the repair of the damaged parts while the wear and tear warranty facilitates the replacement of worn out parts that may be of no further use to the vehicle.
The new car warranty coverage could also include a power train coverage feature.  This type of warranty covers the major parts of the car, which are usually the most costly to repair or replace.  Such parts would normally include the engine, transmission and suspension of the new vehicle.

Beware of fraudulent warranty

Warranty refers to repair and maintenance service provided by car dealers in association with third party vendors. The service will take care of the repair and replacement cost of minor spare parts. However, the warranty does not apply to replacement of expensive spare parts. The warranty will be valid for a period of time agreed by the car owner as well as the service provider. There are two types of warranty. The first type is the new car warranty, issued to brand new cars. The second type is the used car warranty issued to pre-owned cars or those cars sold in the aftermarket.
Used car warranty is expensive when compared to new car warranty considering the age factor of the car. Always insist on a used car warranty while purchasing the car. Under US law, all cars should necessarily have a warranty. If the dealer is not interested in issuing a warranty, the same can be procured from a third party vendor.
Review at least six different warranty packages before finalizing the deal. There are instances of fraudulent warranties being offered by the agencies. Therefore, beware of fraudulent used car warranty. Consult a professional before purchasing the warranty. Buy a flexible warranty since it gives you the option to change the service provider.

Genuine warranty

Warranty is a service rendered by the dealer towards repair and maintenance of the vehicle for a fixed period of time. The warranty takes care of the cost of the repair and replacement of minor spare parts. However, the warranty does not take care of the cost of certain parts. In a warranty, there are two categories. The first category is new car warranty, issued to brand new cars. The second category is aftermarket auto warranty, issued to used cars or pre-owned cars.

The new car warranty is issued by the vehicle dealer in association with a third party vendor. Before finalizing the warranty, evaluate at least six different offers from various third party vendors. The warranty takes care of the vehicle’s drive train, power train, engine, steering mechanism, brake mechanism and other technical aspects.
The new car warranty is available in two options. The first option is based on the distance covered by the car. It could be between 3,000 miles to 30,000 miles covered by the car from the date of its registration. The second category is the number of days. It could be between three months to 30 months. The warranty period will be available against these two options. It is recommended that a car owner opts for a flexible warranty. It will give the car owner the option of changing the warranty if the service provided is dissatisfactory.

Select warranty carefully

Any car that is on the road is eligible for repair and maintenance from the dealer for a fixed period of time. This service is called auto warranty. The dealer will take care of the repair and maintenance of the car, but is not responsible for replacement of expensive spare parts. Only those spare parts, which are covered under the warranty, are eligible for replacement. In auto warranty, there are two categories. The first category is the new car warranty, which is issued to bran new cars. The second category is the aftermarket auto warranty, issued to pre-owned cars or used cars.

According to the US law, all dealers have to necessarily issue aftermarket auto warranty to used cars. If this rule is not followed, used car owners call pull the dealer to the court of law. Aftermarket auto warranty takes care of the vehicle’s drive train, power train, engine, brake mechanism and steering system. This comes under the basic form of warranty. There is another form called bumper-to-bumper warranty, which takes care of the vehicle end-to-end. This is called a comprehensive warranty. Therefore select the aftermarket auto warranty carefully. Review at least five different forms from third party vendors before finalizing the warranty.

The right time to invest in an aftermarket auto warranty

Often if you buy a new or used car you would be issued with some type of warranty coverage.  Whether or not you are satisfied with the terms of coverage provided to you would depend on the use to which you plan to put your vehicle and the period of ownership that you would expect with your current vehicle.  These and only these should be the biggest influential factors in determining whether or not your warranty is right for you.  If you do decide that you are not satisfied with you existing coverage, then the simplest alternative is to invest in an aftermarket auto warranty.  This warranty can be used in combination with you existing warranty to provide an additional range of featured coverage or even to alter the terms or conditions of your warranty somewhat.

The aftermarket auto warranty is a good idea for example if you plan to keep your vehicle for a long time and you wish it to be covered during the majority of this period.  It is also a good idea to invest in the aftermarket auto warranty if you wish your coverage to cover all the parts of your car as opposed to only the listed parts on your existing coverage.

The business of used car warranties

The used car warranty is often usually a limited coverage version of the new car warranty. The prospect of covering, or insuring, a used car against breakdown and wear and tear repairs is a lot more daunting than it is when considering the same for the new car – at least for the company backing the claim.

Therefore its obvious for one to assume that the used car owner would stand to benefit the most from a used car warranty. We take for granted that business is business, and every risk must be converted into a profitable investment.

Most of us used car owners accept the fact that the used car warranty provides only a limited coverage for our vehicles, and we do appreciate that we can make the use of it in terms of compensation when it comes time to repairing or maintaining our used vehicles. But the investor does not go home empty handed either – the majority of the parts of the used car that may be covered by the limited coverage are often not parts that we would regularly replace or which would need regular maintenance. This therefore means that fewer claims are filed or awarded, and the business continues to be a booming one.

The coverage provided by new car warranties

The new car warranty is a coverage plan provided by the new vehicle manufacturer as they assure you of the quality of car that you have purchased from them.  Essentially it is supposed to be a guarantee that the vehicle would perform as specified in the user’s guide, and any deviations to the fact would be covered by the manufacturer until a period specified.

Despite the manufacturer’s guarantee that nothing should go wrong with your car during the period of coverage, one would find that general maintenance and wear and tear damages on the car do occur from the moment you drive it.  Most new car warranties therefore tend to shy away from including such provisions within the coverage that they provide.  Sometimes though, you would be able to benefit from special deals which facilitate free servicing for a limited time period, after which you would have to pay for the regular maintenance of your vehicle by the company (since most warranties also stipulate that only the warranty authorized companies should service their vehicles).  Also, while it is hardly likely that the new car would suffer a breakdown within the first few years of its purchase (that is, during the warranty period), do tend to include breakdown coverage within their warranty contracts.

How the aftermarket auto warranty could benefit you

I think the aftermarket auto warranty was an ingenious idea.  Imagine now that you do not have to settle for the warranty coverage your car dealer offers you with your vehicle purchase.  I could upgrade my warranty coverage, so to speak, by simply buying an aftermarket auto warranty with the coverage that I did not have before.  In fact, now I can turn my basic limited warranty coverage package for my car into a fully comprehensive one!

And in addition to being able to extend the coverage on my vehicle, I am also able to extend the warranty life of my coverage in general by purchasing the aftermarket auto warranty!  Now it is quite true that if my car warranty is due to expire in a couple of months that it will expire.  But by purchasing an aftermarket auto warranty while my existing warranty is valid, I am able to ensure that my vehicle coverage is constant – that as soon as one becomes void the other ‘kicks in’ so to speak!

Purchasing an aftermarket auto warranty would also allow me the benefit of extending the mileage coverage of my vehicle.  Some aftermarket warranties do in fact allow mileage coverage of up to one hundred thousand miles – of course though that is dependent on the condition of your vehicle at the time of the purchase.

Saving money with the used car warranty

The used car warranty should definitely be among those important pieces of papers that should be carried at all times when driving.  You might wonder why I say this; after all, it is not as important as the car insurance.  Wrong – the used car warranty is in fact one of the more beneficial services that the used car owner can have.

While the car insurance is beneficial for coverage in times when something beyond your control occurs (like fire, theft or accident), the warranty is good for simply those times when you need basic maintenance or repairs.  The major difference between the coverage provided by these two documents is the major reason why the used car warranty is often disregarded or taken for granted.

But consider carefully that the used car is often in need of maintenance and service repairs.  Consider that you are more likely to experience a breakdown with your used car than you are to get into an accident or to have someone steal your used car.  Consider now the cost of repairing and maintaining your used car on a monthly or yearly basis, and consider now whether or not the used car warranty is as valuable an asset as I think it is.

New car warranty

Purchasing a new car is probably the biggest investment that any individual would make in his entire life after the purchase of a property. It is therefore a good idea for the person considering this purchase to review carefully the benefits associated with the deals offered by different dealers and manufacturers alike – the new car warranty included.

The new car warranty is one of the biggest bargaining tools that any dealer would attempt to use on you. But do not be easily fooled – the new car warranty is something that you are entitled to with your new car purchase. So when the dealer tries to impress you with the inclusion of a new car warranty free of charge, do not fall easy prey.

You won’t lose with the new car warranty is the terms and conditions of the new car warranty. The warranty may cover your new vehicle up to a certain amount of years, or it may cover the vehicle for a specified amount of miles covered. Some warranties offer coverage up to which ever comes first. Consider which is better for you, and negotiate carefully – if you plan to use your vehicle to cover large distances, you should try to negotiate for the time-frame coverage instead.
