I remember the days when Tesla was a band that helped shape the form of modern rock we have today. But now there’s a new Tesla in town–if you’re in Los Angeles, California, that is–and they’re reshaping the automobile industry.
Tesla Motors has introduced the Tesla Roadster, and aggressive-looking, forward-thinking, all-electric, sports car. Yes, sports car. This open-top, rear-drive coupe screams from zero to sixty in four seconds. But the power isn’t all in the stop-to-go category; the innovative engine design allows the car to have full torque at all times.
The all carbon fibre body provides lightweight and strength in one. The re-engineered Energy Storage System allows the car to get an amazing 250 miles per charge. And because it doesn’t burn gasoline, there’s no waste products spilling into the air, which eliminates the need for an exhaust pipe altogether. With promises like these, it’s no wonder that the first 100 of these exciting beasts have already been spoken for at $100,000 each. It certainly appears that Tesla Motors is setting itself up to lead the U.S. in the electric revolution.
