Lemon law care for car owners

Under US law, all products need to carry some sort of warranty. This warranty is an assurance given by the product manufacturer to replace a faulty product or its part if the defect is detected within a period of time from the date of its sale. All consumer-oriented products should carry a warranty. Selling a product without the warranty could amount to violation of law. Even cars are offered warranty. There are two types of car warranty, the new car warranty and the used car warranty. Both warranties are governed under new car warranty law and used car warranty law.

The used car warranty law or aftermarket car warranty law is highly protective nature from the consumer point of view. Therefore, it is popularly called as lemon law care for car owners. The law was evolved after it was found that a number of fraudulent car warranties, which were offering plenty of services, were found in circulation in the market. Often vehicle owners were taken for a ride by the warranty firms. To ensure that the vehicle owners are not duped, the law has certain in built measures. For instance, if the services promised under the used car warranty are not delivered, the matter can be taken up with the authorities concerned.
