Extended Risk Coverage
General Motors auto maker is feeling the burn from Dex-Cool antifreeze vehicle damage. It appears that GM drivers have been regularly complaining about the antifreeze being a source of added wear and tear on automobile engines and are fed up with consequential repairs not covered in the manufacturer’s warranty. At this point, GM has been accused by multiple customers and faces lawsuits by exasperated vehicle owners.
No one wants to buy a car imagining the damage going on under the surface from a fluid chosen by the manufacturer. As nightmarish as it is, GM’s Dex-Cool situation is one of many similar manufacturer fault situations that vehicle owners get heated about. The warranty provided by a car manufacturer is only as good as that auto maker’s ability to produce a dependable, quality, ethical product. Where there’s an antifreeze causing havoc in intake gaskets, there is a likelihood of lacking coverage. An extended warranty can protect a car owner from occurrences such as this so don’t hesitate to enroll in a warranty that will pull you out of an expensive, unanticipated manufacturer mistake.

Ford’s PZEV Focus
Out of respect for Ford, we will follow up yesterday’s not-so-charming report on the Ford dealership warranty fraud with a heart-warming reference to Ford’s PZEV Focus. In an attempt to raise awareness about Ford’s Focus model’s direct comparison to hybrid fuel efficiency, Ford is smacking PZEV labels on its Focus in California.
Along with auto manufacturers’ attempts at lower fuel emissions comes the mandatory requirement that the car must be covered by an extended warranty for a minimum of 15 years or 150,000 miles. According to the article cited in Auto Spectator, the manufacturer must provide this warranty to cover the PZEV standard in a guarantee that the car will remain emissions conscious.

Does Your Warranty Limit Repair Shops?
In the continuation to unfold the various shapes and sizes that auto warranties come in, a limiting factor of some coverage companies is the location allowance, or lack thereof. It’s safe to say that most Americans do not have a specific repair shop over a long period of time. Even the most consistent customers to a particular maintenance shop are forced to find a new location at some point due to a move, a closing, or possibly a new and higher maintenance vehicle. There are many reasons a customer would need to switch around their auto repair preferences, but the bottom line is if your warranty allows for it.
Some warranties bind the client to particular locations for auto repair. This can be a hassle on scheduling, travel distance, and the repair shop may tend to cost more than the local competition. Perhaps if you’re partial to a particular repair shop you won’t need to investigate too deeply any limitations an auto warranty requires for the place of repair. But if you’re in the market for an automobile warranty that does not limit on maintenance locations, be sure to read the fine print.

Consider Your Car’s Reliability
Purchasing a vehicle can be a tremendous decision. Even the most proven makes and models have disappointed a buyer or two, or even come through a recall from the manufacturer. As a car buyer, you can rarely anticipate the reliability of the automobile exactly. Doing some research on the car’s history of reliability is important and will make a considerable difference in the endurance of the car. This can help you in the purchase of an extended warranty on the vehicle, although it should never eliminate a buyer’s decision to invest in a warranty.
Buying an extended warranty will protect the car buyer from unforeseen events. The automobile manufacturers haven’t exactly maintained pristine reputations as of late. It seems as though every time you turn around a manufacturer is making a significant mistake or is being publicized for something negative. Vehicles are costly and are entrusted with a huge responsibility every day. Putting up all the stops to guarantee a long and healthy future for your car puts new meaning to reliability.

Automobile Coverage For the Long-Haul
For some, warranty coverage is a disputable matter. Many car owners don’t consider that protection for their automobile incase of unexpected repair needs. Of course no vehicle buyer likes to think that their means of transportation will eventually cost them far more than anticipated, and when it happens, it can be financially devastating as well as take a toll on your sanity.
To have an extended warranty makes sense as car ownership is more expensive all the time due to soaring gas prices, repair rates, and the fact that an automobile is an item that depreciates as it provides a necessary service. Show your automobile some appreciation by getting it coverage for the long-haul and watch your warranty money turn into investment as you prevent yourself from paying far more than necessary to keep your car operating.
To make the right decision about an extended warranty, consider your car’s existing coverage. Think about how long you desire to own a properly functioning car. If you are financially wise about owning an automobile that endures, purchase an extended warranty that will guarantee just that.

Automobile Reliability and Warranty
Just as it is important to be educated about the car you purchase, it is vital to know the details about your auto warranty as well. Even better, you can ensure yourself a long-lasting automobile if you do both. In seeking the right vehicle, you must be aware that pricing isn’t the best gauge of a car’s safety, reliability, and endurance.
Gas mileage is another factor about an automobile search that is high on the priority of consumers today, and with good reason. But going on only gas mileage could mean putting out financially in other ways for a disappointing car experience in the long run. Regardless of your vehicle choice, a car does depreciate and the buyer would do themselves a service to prolong the automobile’s life with a solid warranty.
Don’t sell yourself short by putting too much burden on expensive machinery, even if you have done the research. There are many factors involved in the endurance of a vehicle, only one of them being its physical and mechanical reliability. An accident, a natural disaster, a hail storm, are all examples of unforeseen threats to your automobile’s upkeep. As you are browsing dealerships deciding on the right car for you, be sure to look into the right warranty at the same time.

Honda and Toyota sales rise in May.
May is no longer known for having kids, but for buying foreign cars. Toyota and Honda sales climb for the month of May. Rising interest rates and rising gas prices have contributed to the lowest sales from GM and Ford of all time, but Toyota and Honda saw double digit sales increase.
GM sales fell nearly 16 percent due to cut back in rental company sales. Rental companies are now switching to Honda and Toyota. Trucks and SUV sales were also down a whole 10 percent. This was a record setting year for foreign auto manufactures and most analysts suggest that things will continue this way until Ford and GM refocus and revamp their strategy.
However, it seems, at least through commercials, that GM and Ford are both busy advertising about their fuel flex vehicles that are hitting the market. But, I’ve actually yet to see a fuel flex vehicle on the road. So, I wonder if GM and Ford’s strategy will work.

AutoNation did not meet the expectations of Wallstreet Journal
AutoNation announced that they did not meet expectations in the first quarter. In fact, Q1 was not their best performance.
AutoNation blames the folly on unbelievably high interest rates and towering stock option costs.
Of course, making a dealership a successful dealership is not as easy as it was at one time, says Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Jackson. Jackson also insists:
revenue should be flat to slightly higher compared with the $4.62 billion recorded a year ago, but added that rising interest rates hurt its earnings by 2 cents per share and stock options reduced results by another penny.
It’s not looking like a good start in ’06 for the auto world. I’m sure this news affected everyone in the auto industry and there will be a ripple affect accordingly up the line all the way to the auto manufacturing sector.

You must look for the best deal
Most people are looking for the best rate on their auto warranty. For many it’s the deciding factor as to which warranty they choose. This just isn’t smart…
We all know cost is a great indicator of auto warranty choice. In fact, it may also be YOUR choice. However, to ensure you have a warranty in place that’s reliable, it’s not all you should be looking at:
- Price
Yes, price is important, but don’t let that be all you notice.
- Trust
Is the company established? Is it a member of the BBB? Are they visible online? Are their contact details prominently located?
Don’t end up with a great price on a useless auto warranty.

759,310 visitors to the North American International Auto Show
While seeing 2% lower numbers, the organizers were still happy to see excited fans and auto enthusiasts.
Show officials note that attendance isn’t the only measure of success. National and international media attention is another benchmark, and in that regard, the show improved, Genthe said.
"We’ve seen a 31 percent increase in the press mentions from a year ago," Genthe said. "And that doesn’t even include the auto buff magazines. When the final report is done, I think it’s going to be truly incredible."
Organizers also noted that while group sales were a definite loss, they still did well in walk-up sales.
