Are People Ready To Embrace Technology?

images-14.jpegThe Prius has become one of the hottest vehicles in the country.  This is actually quite amazing because this is a hybrid electric vehicle, which requires people to embrace change. With any change, people like to protect themselves.  Many people feel better purchasing a hybrid if they have an auto warranty to go along with it. The billion-dollar question that innovators face is whether people will resist or embrace innovation.  Apparently, Toyota got it right, because thousands of people are buying the Prius.

People accustomed to a regular vehicle would struggle to get the Prius to move forward.  In addition, people probably couldn’t figure out how to put the car in reverse.  However, these are not hard lessons to learn, they just require people to change their way of thinking.  To start the Prius you press a button located on the dashboard twice.  To make your car go forward or backward you manipulate a small stick that comes out of the dashboard.

People might fear technology because it is seductive, yet they might also have a fear of not being able to change. Either way, it is good to protect yourself.  This includes purchasing new car warranties that will cover you in the case of faulty technology.  Innovators never really know which way the cash register will ring.  However, Toyota got it right with the Prius.

What Does Your Bumper To Bumper Auto Warranty Cover?

images-23.jpegYou may think that a basic bumper to bumper auto warranty covers everything between the front and the back end of your car. But does it? If not, will an extended auto warranty give you the coverage that you need?

You may think that you have extensive coverage, but review the fine print to see what isn’t covered. Unfortunately, certain incidentals aren’t covered by any auto warranty. But, a lot of warranties don’t have these items listed clearly, which can mean you may be paying for services that you are actually covered for. It is hard when these items aren’t stated clearly on your contract, which means it is essential for you to review your document thoroughly.

In Auto Advantage’s booklet which explains the service agreement for bumper to bumper new car warranties, there is a section titled “What is Not Covered”, which makes things easy for the consumer. Also included on the same page is what is included in your coverage:

This program covers all the major components on your vehicle… Bumper to Bumper Coverage provides Mechanical Break-down coverage for repairs/replacements of ALL original equipment, manufacturers factory installed mechanical and electrical operating parts and assemblies on the covered vehicle…

Knowing what you are covered for is half the battle, but you also want to make sure you are covered for a certain amount of time. With Auto Advantage you can be covered anywhere from three months to fourteen years, it’s up to you. Mileage is also flexible.

An extended auto warranty will offer you many options as well as peace of mind about the automobile that you are purchasing.

Three Tips For Buying A New Car

images.jpegWhen buying a new car, it is up to the consumer to do their homework before shopping. This will ensure the best deal possible. Three important tips will save you from unnecessary costs.

First, shop around to find a good dealership. One way to do this is to check blogging about dealerships. Web searches can be a wealth of information. Many times you will find complaints or positive revues that could help you. Also, it is a good idea to contact three car dealerships in your area to see which ones are going to respond quickly and be helpful.

Next, don’t give in to alarm systems or dealer financing. These are two ways that consumers lose in the end. For example, when cars are manufactured they already have wiring installed. However, automakers sell alarms separately for up to $1200. This is added on to the price of the new car. Also, finance offices don’t usually give you the best deals. A better option would be to put your money towards an auto warranty.

Finally, sell your car before you get to the dealership. If you sell yourself, you will get a much better deal than you would on a trade-in.

The bottom line is that any mechanical breakdown leaving a motorist stranded could wipe out all of the gains from a perfectly negotiated deal. New car warranties should be an essential part of your purchase in order to protect you from costly repairs.

Auto Warranty Solutions Aren’t Always Easy

car4.jpgContrary to huge investments in technology to reduce auto warranty costs and improve quality, auto warranty cost reduction has been quite elusive for many vehicle manufacturers.

One of the problems is that specific identification of the troublesome parts and less than desirable suppliers is a difficult and time consuming costly process. Automobile production, sales, and new car warranties create valuable data that could identify defective parts.  This data can not be fully used because it is too big to be cost effectively looked at by any data warehouse technology. The systems are made more complicated by constraints that make it difficult to cost effectively perform the analyses on data sets with speed and accuracy.
