If you just purchased a new car, it is a good idea to purchase an auto warranty as well. New car warranties offer four kinds of coverage:
1. The first kind of coverage you can get is a basic, bumper-to-bumper warranty. This provides coverage for the parts of the car from bumper to bumper.
2. The second kind of coverage you can get is a powertrain, or drivetrain warranty. This will cover the parts of your car that make it run. Some of the parts included are the drive axels, engine, transmission, and the driveshaft.
3. The third kind of coverage is for corrosion or rust. This will provide coverage for rust-through problems.
4. The fourth kind of coverage is roadside assistance. This service may be offered to you while you have a basic warranty that is active. This will provide services such as flat tire assistance, towing, assistance with lockout, or running out of gas.
You can familiarize yourself with all of the details of the coverage you receive from your warranty by looking in your owner’s manual or warranty booklet. If you think that you still do not have enough coverage, it is a good idea to purchase an extended warranty.
A car’s powertrain is made up of the parts that make it run. Such parts include the transmission, the engine, and the drivetrain (the components that get the power from the engine to the wheels and down to the ground). It is a large system that consists of many moving parts. If any part of the powertrain fails, there is less of a chance that you will actually get where you need to go. The car’s powertrain features and engine specs are vital to making the car run.
A powertrain auto warranty covers the powertrain components if they are found defective or if they are damaged within a specific time period. This means that the manufacturer will pay to have the faulty components replaced or repaired. The powertrain warranty usually has a year or mileage (whichever comes first) period of coverage and it expires when the designated period is up. This warranty generally lasts for a longer time period than other manufacturer warranties, like the bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Powertrain auto warranty coverage generally excludes parts that wear such as CV joints and boots, clutches, and other parts that have a small lifespan and need to be replaced at regular intervals or sooner depending upon how well the car is maintained or how hard it is driven.
An auto warranty is a smart investment if you just bought a new car. New car warranties offer four kinds of coverage:
1. One type of coverage is basic coverage, or a bumper-to-bumper warranty. This provides coverage for all parts of the vehicle from bumper to bumper.
2. Another type of coverage is a powertrain, or drivetrain warranty which will cover all of the parts of your vehicle that make it run. Parts usually included in this type of coverage are the engine, transmission, driveshaft, and drive axles.
3. Another kind of coverage is for corrosion and rust. This provides coverage for rust-through problems.
4. A last kind of coverage is roadside assistance. This service may be provided for you while you are under an active basic warranty. This service offers services such as flat tire assistance, assistance for when you run out of gas, lockout assistance, and towing.

A warranty is a guarantee that is made by the seller for the product that is being sold. When the warranty is for a vehicle, it is a contract that states the replacement and repair of parts for a specific amount of time.
New car warranties come with the purchase of new vehicles. New car warranties offer many benefits. When the manufacturer sells a vehicle and offers a new car warranty, it is a guarantee given to a consumer that if the car experiences any mechanical defects or failure, it can be replaced or repaired free of charge. There are different types of new car warranties, such as the “powertrain†and “bumper to bumper†warranties. The powertrain warranty offers the coverage for all of the parts of the vehicle that make it run and the bumper to bumper warranty covers all of the parts of the car from bumper to bumper.
Therefore, new car warranties provide you with peace of mind when you receive your repair bills.

Investing in an auto warranty for your vehicle is a smart idea. Cars tend to break down at any moment and the cost of repairs can be very expensive. A lot of people can’t afford all of their car repairs due to how costly they tend to be. Therefore, purchasing new car warranties or used car warranties is the decision most people tend to make to avoid having to pay for all of their vehicle repairs. Auto warranties can be bought through the car’s manufacturer, a local car dealership, or through an aftermarket auto warranty company. Most new cars will have a factory warranty included, but when that warranty ends you can always purchase an extended warranty.
When purchasing a warranty for your car, keep in mind that there are two different kinds of warranties you can invest in. You can either purchase a bumper-to-bumper warranty or a powertrain warranty. A bumper-to-bumper warranty will cover the cost of repairs on most of the car’s parts, but excludes coverage on parts that need replacement due to scheduled maintenance. A powertrain warranty covers the cost of repair on the moving parts of the vehicle. For example, it will provide coverage for parts such as the transmission and the engine.
Purchasing a warranty for a new car is smart because even if the car has mechanical problems, you still need to make your monthly payments, but the cost of repairs will be covered by your warranty. Having to pay for both repairs and monthly payments can be heavy on your wallet, so in the end a warranty will pay itself off by saving you money on repairs.
An extended auto warranty offers two different types of coverage. These two types of coverage are bumper-to-bumper and powertrain.
Bumper-to-bumper coverage offers a greater amount of coverage because it covers the most parts of the car. Usually when provided a list detailing the coverage, you will receive a list of parts that are excluded from the plan, because it is shorter. Bumper-to-bumper warranties are considered an exclusionary warranty because consumers are provided with a list of excluded parts from the coverage plan.
Powertrain warranties cover specific parts of the car that are considered the most important. The parts included in this are the transmission, the engine, and other parts of the car’s powertrain. These inclusionary coverage plans cover the more essential and expensive parts of the car. There are a lot of important things to know and research before purchasing a powertrain warranty:
1. Make sure you know exactly what parts are being covered in the auto warranty.
2. Make sure you are using the car for a long duration of time and be sure the coverage will still be active when you have high mileage.
3. See if you receive any coverage for additional accessories in the car.
Overall, be sure to know what type of warranty will suit your car’s needs. Compare prices and types of coverage between bumper-to-bumper warranties and powertrain warranties.
Mitsubishi Motors is trying to build on the excitement that has been generated the launch of the new Lancer Evolution and brand new 2009 Galant.  The new Galant made its debut today at Chicago’s Auto Show and comes with hopes that they can raise themselves up from the lack of attention their predecessors had gotten.

Mitsubishi is trying to cover all the bases in what is a very complex and competitive mid-size market segment by offering the 2009 Galant in several different trim levels. It will also have a choice of 4 or 6 cylinder motors.  The top of the range for the 3.8L V6 is available in the Ralliart-Tuned Galant and offers a hefty 258 horsepower output. Also available are a 230 horsepower V6, and a 2.4L 160 horsepower 4 cylinder engine. All engines come with Mitsubishi’s Sportronic transmission.
Mitsubishi vehicles are backed by short term new vehicle limited auto warranties. The Eclipse, Lancer, Galant, Endeavor and Outlander also come with a 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty along with a 5-year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper auto warranty. This still leaves a void in the later years when many typical failures occur. This is continued proof that an auto warranty is a necessity on these high powered mid-sized cars.
