The Powertrain Auto Warranty
The powertrain in a vehicle is made up of all of the parts of the vehicle that are necessary to make it run. Included in the powertrain are parts like the engine, the transmission, and the drivetrain. The system is large and consists of many moving parts. If any part of the powertrain system is faulty, there is a higher risk that your vehicle will not get you where you need to go. A vehicle’s engine specs and powertrain features are extremely important in making the car run properly.
A powertrain auto warranty covers the replacement or repair of the powertrain components if they are faulty or get damaged during a specific period of time. This means that the manufacturer or warranty company will cover the cost of the replacement or repair. The powertrain warranty usually has a year or mileage (whichever comes first) period of coverage, which expires when the specific period is up. This warranty usually lasts for a longer period of time than other auto warranties like the bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Powertrain warranty coverage generally doesn’t cover parts that wear like Cv joint, boots, clutches, and other parts that have a much shorter lifespan and need to be replaced on a regular basis.
