Volkswagen Is Increasing Production

images-142.jpegVolkswagen is planning on putting out 20 new cars in the next three years.  They are making an international effort to deliver eight million vehicles by 2011.

Volkswagen intends on producing cars in all of the various categories.  However, their plan places an emphasis on market share in the pickup, SUV, and van categories.  The portfolio expansion will include a 10 percent yearly production increase.

In 2007, Volkswagen produced 6.2 million cars, however their goal for the future is to put out 8 million cars by 2011.

A big part of Volkswagen’s plan has an emphasis based on improving the environmental criteria of their vehicles.  This will allow oil and gas dependency to be reduced.  To achieve this VW is going to optimize the TSI and TDI engine and make use of a shift gearbox.  In addition, it is in the process of doing research on fuel cells, electric drives, and hybrids.

The rise in oil prices, taxes, and awareness about our changing climate has made motorists demand environmentally friendly cars.  In addition, drivers want peace of mind, which is achievable with a reliable car and an auto warranty.  Volkswagen is meeting consumers’ needs, and other auto manufacturers will soon follow suit.
