A warranty is an agreement given by a product manufacturer to replace it in part or in full if found to have a genuine manufacturing defect within a specified period of time from the date of it sale. Warranty is given to products in the consumer space such as electrical appliances, household goods, interior articles, electronic equipment and many more. Warranty is also issued to given to cars and is generally called auto warranty. Auto warranty generally means warranty for new cars. There are various packages under the auto warranty.
Auto warranty is issued for a maximum period of three years or up to 30,000 kilometers covered by the vehicle. In some cases, the warranty is valid till which ever of the two comes first. It is called an amalgamated warranty. During the warranty period, the repair and maintenance of the vehicle is completely the responsibility of the auto dealer. The replacement of minor spare parts will be carried out without levying any fee on the car owner. However, the warranty does not cover the cost of the replacement of expensive spare parts. Similarly, the warranty does not take care of the cost of the replacement of spare parts and accessories damaged in accidents.
